Cheryl Jordan
Cheryl Kahaunani Darlene Jordan of Puhi, Kauai, died at home on Sept. 23, 2002 at the age of 57.
Born in Honolulu, Oahu on Mar. 31, 1945, she was a School Teacher with the DOE.
She is survived by her husband: Larry Jordan of Puhi, son: Lawrence L. (Jessie) Jordan of Puhi; three brothers: Clinton (Petra) Makanani of Kapaa; Jon Makanani of Portland, OR; and Gabriel (Phylis) Makanani of Seattle, WA; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 9 a.m. at the Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Lihue ward. Service officiated by Bishop Stennet will begin at 11 a.m. Followed by burial at the Lihue Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.

Alice Ventura
Alice Clement Ventura of Kailua, died in Honolulu on Sept. 24, 2002 at the age of 86.
Born in Eleele, Kauai, on Mar. 14, 1916, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband: Frank M. Ventura; two sons: Melvin Ventura, James Ventura; one brother: Caesar Clement; two sisters: Flora Mobaldi, Agnes Murdaugh, 13 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, Oct. 1, at Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo 10 a.m. -10:45 a.m. where mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. by Father Keahi. Burial to follow at Holy Cross Church Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.

Masaki Yamaguchi
Masaki Yamaguchi of Kapaa, Kauai, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital, on Sept. 22, 2002 at the age of 82.
Born in Pahala, Hawaii on April 24, 1920, he was a carpenter and also in the United States Army.
He is survived by his son: Floyd (Debbie) Yamaguchi of Oklahoma, two daughters: Jill (Randall) Asato of Oahu, Jaye (Sean) Yamaguchi-Chun of Kapaa, 5 grandchildren and relatives in Japan.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Oct. 5, at Borthwick Mortuary in Honolulu from 10 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. where services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Inurnment to follow at Valley of the Temple at 1 p.m. Family suggests Casual attire and flowers omitted.

Francis Zablan
Francis Benjamin Zablan of Kilauea, Kauai, died at Samuel Mahelona Hospital, on Sept. 22, 2002 at the age of 78.
Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on May 12, 1924, he retired from State Hospital in Kaneohe also from United States Army.
He is survived by one daughter: Renee (Hank) Martin of Kaneohe; two sons: Randy Rego of Waipake, Joe Asis of Honolulu; four brothers: Lawrence Zablan, Jay-Robert Zablan, Marcus Zablan; five sisters: Edith York, Rosebell Fitzgerald, Hope Kihune, Benelyn Littlies, Benay Vilani Zablan, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, Oct. 4, at Kauai Veterans Center in Lihue from 10 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow. Casual attire is suggested.

Gelacio Pascual Sr.
Gelacio Pascual Sr. of Lihu’e, Kauai, died at home on Sept. 25, 2002, at the age of 93.
Born in Laoag City, Philippines on December 23, 1908, he was a retired mail carrier with Akita Enterprise.
He is survived by wife, Aida Pascual of Lihu’e, Kauai; two sons; Gelacio Pascual Jr. and Francis Pascual both of Lihu’e, Kauai; daughter, Sally (Cliff) Abe of Kapa’a, Kaua’i; grand-daughter, Kerrilyn Villa; great-grandchildren, Chance, Skye, Nalu; brother, Isaac Pascual Sr. There are numerous nieces and nephews and family.
Friends may visit with the family from 6-9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 4, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel. Services, officiated by Father Keahi will begin at 7 p.m. with rosary. Visitation wil be from 9-10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Holy Cross Catholic Church. Mass will be at 10 a.m., followed by burial at the Kaua’i Memorial Gardens. Casual attire is suggested.
