The Kaua’i infant transported to a Honolulu hospital Sunday for internal injuries remains hospitalized.

On Tuesday, the 22-month-old boy was listed in critical condition at Kapi’olani Medical Clinic for Women and Children for injuries caused by blunt trauma to the abdominal area. A Kapi’olani spokesperson could not comment on his status, as the boy’s case is being examined by Child Protective Services.

The boy was first treated at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Friday and was transported to O’ahu on Sunday. Police said the case is still under investigation.
