A Day of Aloha to mark anniversary

A two-hour program is set for Kukui Grove Center Stage from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m.

Opening the event will be a chant by Johnny Akana and Mauli Cook.

Kaua’i singer Aira Kato will perform “America the Beautiful” and Hawai’i Pono’i” plus other patriotic songs. Also appearing will be young performers, artists and poets.

Mayor Maryanne Kusaka and the Rev. Jan Rudinoff will share their thoughts on the events of Sept. 11, and care packages will be presented and sent to our local fire and police departments to be given to their counterparts in New York City.
