Marjorie MacQueen
Marjorie Crow MacQueen died in Sequim, Wash., on May 5, 2002, at the age of 79.
Born Sept. 14, 1922, in Koloa, Kauai to Bessie and George Crow, she was an accomplished avid horsewoman racing and winning many races as a teenager and young woman. She was a member of Lihue Union Church and the Mokihana Club. She also loved to golf.
She is survived by daughters, Marilyn (Raymond) Santiago and Diane (Michael) Ralston of Washington; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service for Marjorie Crow MacQueen will be held at Lihue United on Sept. 21 at 11 a.m.
Louis Soto, Jr.
Louis Soto, Jr., of Kapahi, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Sept. 6, 2002, at the age of 81.
A laborer for the federal government, he was born in ‘Ele’ele on Sept. 20, 1920.
He is survived by his wife: Elsie Nakamura Soto of Kapa’a, daughters: Beatrice (Tyrus Siale) Conant Lois Soto, son: Michael Soto, brother: Masulino Soto and sister: Josephine Rodrigues. There is one grandson and three great grandchildren.
Family and may call on Friday, Sept. 13, at Borthwick Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. where a prayer service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. by Fr. Keahi. Burial will follow at Kaua’i memorial Gardens.
Casual attire is suggested.
Albina Lavoie
Albina Rose Lavoie died at the home of her daughter in Wailua Homesteads on Aug. 23, 2002, at the age of 86.
She was born in Southbridge, MA on Dec. 19, 1915, where she lived until moving to Hawai’i with her husband Odilon “Babe” Lavoie in 1999.
She is survived by her daughter, Beth Fisher-Lavoie, and five grandchildren. Her only other child, Natalle Lamarine died in 1998.
Funeral services will be held at St. Catherine’s Church on Friday, Sept. 13, at 6 p.m.
Robert Coolidge
Robert Coolidge of Kapa’a, died on Sept. 6, 2002, at the age of 58.
A restaurant manager, he was born in Oakland, Calif.
He is survived by his parents; Thelma and Gene Coolidge of San Jose, Calif., sister; Carole Holmes Di Matteo of Cupertino, and hanai friend; Richard Ryan of Kapa’a.
Services are pending.
Albert Rodrigues, Sr.
Albert “Tuko” Rodrigues, Sr. of Koloa, Kaua’i, died Sept. 5, 2002, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 75.
A heavy equipment operator for McBryde Sugar, he was born March 15, 1927, in Koloa, Kaua’i.
He is survived by his companion: Susan Butacon of Koloa; one son: Albert “Bully” (Mila) Rodrigues, Jr. of California; one daughter: Stephanie Rodrigues of Koloa; one brother: Julio (Caridad) Rodrigues of Koloa; two sisters: Helen Rodrigues and Carmen Rodrigues, both of Honolulu; four step daughters: Paulette Kaiwi of Kekaha, Dorothy (Earl) Torres of Las Vegas, Betty (Warren) Louis of Omao, and Rosemarie Texidor of Honolulu; two step sons: Joseph Carveiro of Omao and Douglas (Tita) Butacan of Koloa; two grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends may call on Thursday, Sept. 12, at St. Raphael’s Church in Koloa from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. where Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. by Father Felix, burial to follow at St. Raphael’s Church Cemetery in Koloa.
