LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR Mazie Hirono passes out literature about the Homesafe program to a Kauaian who stopped by Pizza Hut in Lihu’e to pick up gun locks that were being distributed free of charge by the Homesafe program headed up by Hirono. In the background are Kerry McDonnell of the National Project Homesafe program, and Lt. Miles Tanabe of the Kaua’i Police Department. The goal of the program is to have 30,000 of these gun locks distributed statewide. Residents who missed out on the free distribution Monday can contact either Roy Nishida, the governor’s liaison, or the Kaua’i Police Department.
