None of the passengers involved in a vehicle fire early Friday morning at the entrance to Kahili Mountain Park required medical assistance, though damages to the car registered it a “complete loss,” according to Fire Department Battalion Chief Ernest Moniz.
The car, a 1987 Ford Tempo, started smoking as the driver was headed home, according to Moniz. The Kauai Fire Department arrived on the scene at 4:34 a.m.
The fire may have been electrical in nature and seemed to have started in the engine compartment, Moniz said.
