Kauai will play host to a British invasion this summer, only this invasion does not feature the Beatles or the Rolling Stones and no one is expected to be wearing any Red Coats or White Wigs.
In this instance, the invaders are professional soccer coaches from the United Kingdom who will be hosting a five day soccer clinic for players and coaches.
The clinic, sponsored by ProExcel in conjunction with Kauai, will run from July 29-August 2 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (full days), or 9 a.m. to 12 p.m./1 p.m. to 4 p.m. (half days) at Kalawai Park.
The camp will be organized in accordance with the abilities of the players who attend the program.
Some of the programs offered are fundamental skill development (for ages 5-7), progressive skill development (for ages 8-12), and advanced skill development (for ages 13-18).
The cost will be $155 full days or $105 half days for the Monday through Friday camp.
ProExcel will also stage two free clinics for coaches and parents in conjunction with the regular clinic.
The coaches from the UK will be given the opportunity to experience Kauaian culture by staying with host families in the community.
Those interested in housing a coach or for more information on the clinic, call Randal Dejong at (808) 742-9824 or contact ProExcel at (888) 551-4366.
