Kurt Nino and Allan Baab qualified Friday for the USGA’s Junior Amateur Championship to be held at the Atlanta Athletic Club from July 23-27.
Hawaii’s sectional qualifier was held June 20 and 21st at Turtle Bay Resort’s Arnold Palmer/ George Fazio Course (Blue).
Nino shot 4 over par 76 to win medalist honors with 150, and Baab followed with a 74 and 151 total.1)
David Hahn (76 / 153), Burt Bonk (78 / 155), and Travis Toyama (76 / 156) are the alternates.
The Fazio Course at Turtle Bay was a superb test for a field of 44 juniors.
It played to a par of 72 over 6535 yards. Conditions were breezy today with off and on rain showers.
