John Fray Lomma
John Fray Lomma of Kalaheo, Kauai, died at Straub Hospital on Apr. 13, 2002, at the age of 56.
Born in Los Angeles, CA on July 22, 1945, he was a farmer and puka shell jeweler with his family. He is survived by wife, Diana of Lawai, Kauai; three sons, Paco Lomma of Kalaheo, Kauai, Noah Fiorello of Waimea, Big Island and Cory Dickens of Wailua; three daughters, Corina Lomma of Kalaheo, Kauai, Levana Lomma of Kalaheo, Kauai and Nani Lomma-Dickens of Wailua, Kauai; three grandchildren; parents, John Lomma Sr. and Ruth Kimball; brother, Douglas Richard Lomma of CA; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family at 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 28, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel; service officiated by Levana Lomma will begin at 2 p.m. followed by burial at Lawai Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.

Peter Aki Sr.
Peter Benedict Aki, Sr., of Las Vegas, Nev. and formerly of Kaua’i, died April 9, 2002, in Las Vegas, at the age of 83.
Born July 13, 1918, in Kapa’a, Kaua’i, he is survived by three sons, Peter Jr. of Phoenix, AZ., Patrick Aki of Pittsburg, Calif., and Herman Aki of Phoenix, AZ; four daughters, Paulette (Loren II) McKenzie of Phoenix, AZ., Bernadette Aki of Las Vegas, NV., Linette (Glenn Sr.) Padua of Maui and Mara Lazario of Kileen, Tex.; 17 grandchildren, six great grandchildren; and three brothers, Raymond Aki of Kaua’i, Patrick Aki of O’ahu, and Eddie Aki of O’ahu; and four sisters, Mary Aquiar of O’ahu, Ruth Ching of Kaua’i, Lucy Howell, and Teresa Surprise, both of Florida.
A memorial service will be held at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Koloa at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 27. A private spreading of his ashes will take place immediately after the service.
Alice Gonsalves
Alice Toshiko Gonsalves of Hanama’ulu, died at home on April 19, 2002, at the age of 68.
Born in Kapaia, Kaua’i, on Feb. 17, 1934, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by husband, Frank of Hanama’ulu, Kaua’i; two step-sons, Stanley (Maureen) Gonsalves of Kapa’a, Kaua’i and Frank Gonsalves, Jr. of Hilo, Hawai’i; step-daughter, Elsie Gonsalves Rivera of Kapa’a, Kaua’i; 15 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; brother, Tatsumi (Kathryn) Hiramoto of Wailua Houselots, Kaua’i; two sisters, Mary Masako Inoshita of Wailua, Kaua’i and Mitsuo Fujise of Honolulu, O’ahu; caregiver, Charmaine Delores Archer of Hanama’ulu, Kaua’i.
Friends may visit with the family at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 26, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel; service officiated by Father Keahi will begin at 11 a.m. followed by burial at the Kaua’i Veterans Cemetery.
Casual attire is suggested and that flowers be omitted. The family invites friends and family to a potluck gathering at the Kaua’i Veterans’ Cemetery pavilion following the service to celebrate her life.

Pablo Nicolas
Pablo Abad Nicolas, of Kalaheo, Kauai, died at Wilcox Hospital, on April 20, 2002, at the age of 92.
Born in the Philippines on Jan. 4, 1910, he was a machine operator for Lihue Plantation.
He is survived by his wife: Adelaida Nicolas of Philippines; one son: Jimmy Nicolas of Philippines; one brother: Jose (Lourdes) Nicolas of California; three sisters: Felicidad Ganela of California; Pilar Corpuz of Philippines; Evandeline Miguel of California, 3 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, April 26, at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 8:30 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. where services will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Burial to follow at the Lihue Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.

Frank Amorin
Frank Amorin, formerly of Hanamaulu, died at Kaiser Permanente Hospital on April 20, 2002 at the age of 77.
Born in Hanamaulu on Oct. 28, 1924, he was a retired painter.
He is survived by two daughters; Priscilla (Orestes) Miguel of Lihu’e and Carol (Ron) Dias of Kapolei, O’ahu, two sons; Harold Amorin of Kapolei, and Darrell (Dawn) Amorin of Kapa’a, one sister; Delphine “Bina” (William) Chamizo of Honolulu and two brothers; Mac Amorin of Hanamaulu and Jack Amorin of Lawai. There are 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, April 30, at Immaculate Conception church in Kapaia from 9 a.m. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Inurnment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Kapaia. Casual attire is suggested.
