William Ebinger
William “Gary” Ebinger III of Hanama’ulu, died on April 12, 2002, at the age of 65.
Born in Hanama’ulu, on Jan. 27, 1937. He was a retired Auto Body Repairman with the Public Works Department of the County of Kaua’i. Upon retirement from the County he found that he had too much time on his hands and decided to work part time for Alamo Car Rental until 1999.
He is preceded in death by his wife”: Tina “Tinay” Ebinger. He is survived by their two daughters: Laurie (Clay, Jr.) Kelekoma and Suzanne Ebinger both of Hanama’ulu. They also have two grandsons: Preston Gary Ebinger and Clay “Keoni” Kelekoma III. He has one brother, Richard (Barbara) Ebinger of Wailua Homesteads.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, April 18, 6-9 p.m. at Borthwick Mortuary Chapel in Koloa. Rosary at 7 p.m. And again on Friday, April 19, at Immaculate Conception Church in Kapaia from 9 a.m. Mass to be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Kaua’i Memorial Gardens.

Hartusuna Shibao
Hartusuna Shibao of Kapa’a, Kaua’i, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on April 15, 2002 at the age of 92.
Born in Wahiawa, Kaua’i on Sept. 25, 1909, he was a Land Surveyor with the County of Kaua’i.
He is survived by wife, Shizue of Kapa’a, Kaua’i; two sons, Lincoln (Mary) Shibao of Mililani Town, O’ahu and Gordon (Shirley) Shibao of Kapa’a, Kaua’i; daughter, Susan (Bob) Allen of Port Orchard, WA; three sisters, Shimayo Kumeda of Kumamoto, Japan, Hachime Fujimura of Honolulu, O’ahu and Mutsue Chiagi of Honolulu, O’ahu; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family at 3 p.m. at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel on Saturday, April 20, service officiated by Rev. Kosho Itagaki will begin at 4 p.m. Casual attire is suggested.

Yoshito Yamamoto
Yoshito Yamamoto of Waimea, Kaua’i, died at home on April 10, 2002, at the age of 86.
Born in Waimea, Kaua’i, on August 24, 1915.
He is survived by a brother: Raymond (Mieko) Yamamoto of Honolulu, O’ahu and two sisters: Katsue Ichinose of New Orleans, LA and Katherine (Toyo) Nishida of Koloa, Kauai, numerous nieces and nephews.
Private services were held.

Ronald Pereza
Ronald J. Pereza of Kalaheo died in San Mateo Calif. on March 18, 2002 at the age of 53.
Born in Honolulu on August 27, 1948, he worked in guest services at the Po’ipu Bay Golf Course.
He is survived by two daughters, Sarah and Rachel Pereza of San Mateo California, Mary Monroe-Pereza of San Mateo California, father Raymond Pereza of Kailua, O’ahu & mother Sarah Pereza of Kane’ohe, O’ahu. Four brothers: Eric (Dana) Pereza of Colorado, Tommy (Caroline) Pereza of Puhi, Kaua’i; Miles (Gina) Pereza of Kalaheo, Kaua’i; James (Kahana) Pereza of Puhi, Kaua’i. Four sisters: Blanche (Alan) Cofran of Kailua O’ahu; Louise (Steve) Young of Florida; Melissa (Darrel) Shelton of Honolulu and Laura Mortrud of Waimanalo, O’ahu.
Friends with gather in his memory on Sunday, April 21, 2002 at Kukui’ula Harbor in Po’ipu at 4 p.m. for scattering of ashes. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the American Cancer Society or a trust account for his daughters Sarah and Rachel Pereza at First Hawaiian Bank.
Blossom Kauanui
Blossom Pauahi White Kauanui of Anahola, Uahala died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on April 3, 2002, at the age of 76.
Born on O’ahu on Nov. 24, 1925, she moved to Kaua’i after marrying her, now deceased husband, Joseph Kauanui Jr. During her years on Kaua’i she worked for the pineapple cannery in Kapa’a, as a tour guide for Durante’s Tour Company, Mackenzie’s Tour Company and then for Greyline’s Tour Company until her retirement.
She is most remembered as being an entertainer. She was an entertainer at Coco Palm’s Hotel, with the Latter-Day Saint Church Choir. She also had her own show there, with her family, known as Blossom’s Kissing Cousins. She was known as “Big Blossom.”
She was also a very active member of the Hawaiian organization, Alu Like, as well as the Latter-Day Saint Church in Kapa’a.
She is survived by four sons: Joseph Kauanui III of California; Patrick P. (Beverly) Kauanui of Anahola; Vern L.K. Kauanui of Kapa’a; and Emery K. Kauanui of Anahola. She also had a, now deceased son, Burl F. White. Two daughters: Darlene K. (Henry) Kanoho of Anahola and Maile Ann (Cookie) Battad Robins of Moloka’i.
She had 16 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Viewing will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., with the service to follow on Saturday, April, 20, at the Kapa’a Latter-Day Saint church Chapel.
Burial will follow at the Kaua’i Veterans Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.

Christino Pantil Jr.
Christino Pantil Jr. formerly of Kapa’a, Kaua’i, died on March 26, 2002 at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, MN, at the age of 54.
A subcontractor to General Electric Inc., he was born on October 28, 1948, in Lihu’e, Kaua’i.
Preceded in death by his father, Christino Camat Pantil Sr. He is survived by his son: Aaron Christopher (Danette) Reid of St. Louis, MN.; grandson Austin Reid; his mother: Fortunata Sandacan Pantil of Kapa’a; two sisters: Sandra (Gordon) Sanchez and Pamela (Marvin) Moura both of Kapa’a; and brother: Anthony (Pam) Pantil of Kapa’a; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held on April 18, at Immaculate Conception Church in Kapaia. Friends may visit with the family from 9 a.m. – 10 a.m. Mass service will be celebrated at 10 a.m. by Father Paul. Interment to follow at Kaua’i Memorial Gardens in Kapaia. Casual attire is suggested and flowers omitted.
Howard L. Kenerson
Howard L. Kenerson of Koloa, Kaua’i, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital, on April 9, 2002 at the age of 84.
Born in Haverhill, MA, on September 17, 1917, he was a Veteran of WWII and a Retired Layout operator for Western Electric/AT&T.
He is survived by his wife: Sylvia Kenerson of Koloa; five daughters: Sonja (Francis) Kealoha of Lawai; Barbara Whittier of Koloa; Patricia DiBartolomeo of Koloa; Carol (Dennis) Claussen of Po’ipu; Audrey Moulton of ‘Ele’ele; 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the famiy on April 21, 2002, noon – 4 p.m. at the Family home 2460 Kipuka Street. Private burial with family will be held. Family suggests that flowers be omitted and donations in his name to: Disabled American Veterans-Kaua’i, Chapter 5. 3215 Kapule, Hwy., Lihue, HI 96766.
Evelyn Bullock
Evelyn Charlotte Bullock was born in Enfield, Maine on April 22, 1920. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Gene Bullock of Kalaheo, daughter; Loretta Kiser of North Hills, Calif., three brothers; Jerome Mott of Buckport Maine; Harry Fowles of Battle Creek, Mich., and Dick Fowles of Palm Bay. Fla. and sister; Josaphine Trozzi of Alburn, Maine. She had one grandson and one granddaughter and 2 great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.
She loved volunteering since arriving on the island over 20 years ago. She was active at Wilcox Hospital and taking baby pictures. She helped run the Blood Drives at the hospital. She loved dancing and helped form the Square Dance Club on the island.
She also worked with her husband as a tour guide at the National Tropical Botanical Garden. She was elected twice as the President of the Lihu’e Senior Center and served on the Legislative Team to help obtain the new Lihu’e Center.
A memorial service will be conducted at Kalaheo Missionary Church on Thursday, April 18, from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Casual dress, and the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
Richard Moriwaki
Richard K. Moriwaki of Lihu’e, Kaua’i, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on April 9, 2002 at that age of 80.
Born in Kapaia, Kaua’i on Jan. 18, 1922, he was a retired Postal worker.
He is survived by brother, Masaru (Momoko) of Honolulu, O’ahu and sister, Shizue (Clarence) Ishibashi of Las Vegas, NV; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Private services were held.
