In the first game, East Kaua’i scored seven runs in the first inning and notched only one more run for the rest of the game in a 13-8 loss to the Lihue A’s .
Joe Brun got a rocky start for the A’s, but settled down and went onto his second win; Ronnie Holt took his first loss.
Roy Runnive belted one home run on two hits; Isamo Yoshishige, Glenn Akina and Dwight Fujii all had three hits for the Lihue A’s.
Ronnie Holt got three hits and Ed Bales and Steve Lizama had two hits for East Kaua’i.
In an on-and-off again drizzle during the second game, the K-Makules beat West Kaua’i 7-6 for their first win of the Senior Softball season.
Jay Acoba went the distance for his first win; Pitcher Joe Silva had his third setback.
Besides pitching, Acoba was perfect at the plate with three hits; Ernie Domingo and Guy Ruiz had two hits each; and only Casey Moniz was able to pair hits for West Kaua’i.
In the postponed game played on Tuesday, the Rookies bombed Kawaihau 22-6.
Archie Fontanilla won his fourth game on the mound and Paul Awazu notched a loss.
For the Rookies’ big sticks, Wally Sonoda had a homer on four hits and Dickie Sialana had three hits.
Big sticks for Kawaikau: Joe Pendergest had a home run on three hits and Loui Victorino also had a homer on three hits.
