Genevieve Carvalho Rapozo of Lihu’e, Kaua’i, died on March 3, 2002, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital, at the age of 68.
Born in Hanama’ulu, Kaua’i, on May 16, 1933, she was a waitress and a housewife.
She is survived by her husband: Albert F. Rapozo of Lihu’e; one son: Alan R. Rapozo of O’ahu; three daughters: Deborah J. (Dennis) Blackford of Lihu’e; Nancy M. Rapozo (Roy Higa) of Wailua; Betty J. (Rowland) Wong of Kilauea; five grandchildren: Brandon and Whitney Wong of Kilauea; Kiley Momohara of Wailua; Sierra and Shawna Blackford of Lihu’e; two sisters: Mary Pico of California; Dorothy Medeiros of O’ahu; sister-in-law: Mary Carvalho of O’ahu; one aunty: Joaquina Eulalio of Lihu’e, many nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, March 12, at Immaculate Conception Church from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. where services will be celebrated at 11 a.m. by Father Paul. Burial to follow at Kaua’i Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe. Casual attire is suggested.

Reid Tamura
Reid Ko Tamura of Puhi, Kaua’i, died on March 4, 2002, at Queen’s Medical Center, at the age of 35.
Born in Lihu’e, Kaua’i, on Feb. 18, 1967, he was a maintenance with the hotel industry worked for Sun Village.
He is survived by his wife: Michele Tamura of Puhi; parents: Charles and Elaine Tamura of Kapa’a; one sister: Faith (Curtis) Shiramizu of Kapa’a; two brothers: Chris (Doreen) Tamura of Kapa’a; Rand (Lisa) Tamura of Kapa’a; Mother-in-law: Linda Cataluna of Puhi; Brother-in-law: Kenneth Rosa of Lihu’e; 4 nieces: Daurice, Teresa, Le’a and Alexis; 4 nephews: Cy, Sean, Robin and Ty.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, March 13, at the Kapa’a All Saints Church, from 8 a.m. Services to be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at the Kaua’i Memorial Gardens in Lihu’e. Casual attire is suggested. Flowers omitted.

Mamoru Kubota
Mamoru Kubota, of Wailua Houselots, Kauai, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Feb. 26, 2002, at the age of 77.
Born in Kapa’a, Kaua’i on Jan. 13, 1925, he was a welder with Boiler Makers.
He is survived by brother, Hideto (Miyako) Kubota of Honolulu, O’ahu; sisters, Tomiko Mitsui of Kilauea, Kaua’i, Kimie (John H.) Sugimoto of Honolulu, O’ahu and Satomi (Harry) Hadama of Koloa, Kaua’i; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Private services were held.
