Martin Steljes Jr., of Koloa, Kaua’i, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital, on Feb. 27, 2002, at the age of 78.
Born in Koloa, Kaua’i, on Dec. 27, 1923, He was a Laborer for McBryde Sugar Company.
He is survived by his wife: Eusebia Steljes of Koloa; one step-daughter: Rosita (Tom) Degroote of Kapa’a; two step-sons: Juanito Sambrano and Ernesto Sambrano both of California; one brother: Wayne Steljes of O’ahu. Numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, March 15, at St. Raphael’s Church in Koloa, from 8:30 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. where services will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Koloa Public Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kaua’i Mortuary.
Edna Kutaka
Edna Matsue Kutaka, 78 of Honolulu, died on March 7, 2002 at Ka Punawai Ola.
She was born in Makaweli, Kaua’i, on July 13, 1923.
She is survived by her daughters: Karen Kutaka of Honolulu, Stella Kutaka of Honolulu, Judy (James) Honda of Waimea, Kaua’i, Vivian Kutaka of Kekaha, Kaua’i, Doris Hirabara of Honolulu; sister: Irene Pritchard of Honolulu, Kathleen Itokazu of Honolulu. 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, March 16, at ‘Ele’ele Baptist Church from 11 a.m. Service at noon. Burial to follow at Kaua’i Memorial Gardens. Aloha attire is suggested and flowers omitted.

Garth Hansen
Garth Tidwell Hansen, 81, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family, on Feb. 23, 2002, in St. George, Utah.
Born on Nov. 30, 1920 in Ephraim Utah. He was a pharmacist at Wilcox Hospital until 1991. He was an avid golfer, fisherman and loved to play card games and read.
He is survived by his wife: Ruby of St. George, and children: Dr. James (Carol) Hansen of Hamilton, Montana; Randy (Margo) Hansen of Salt Lake City, Utah; Cathy (Ed) Sancious of Kapa’a, Kaua’i; Laurie (Ross) Aguano of Las Vegas, Nevada; sister: Colynn Hansen of Ephraim, Utah; 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held on March 2, 2002 at the Tonaquint Cemetery in St. George, Utah.
Antone Perreira
Antone Gonsalves Perreira of Lawa’i, Kaua’i, died on March 10, 2002, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital, at the age of 78.
Born in Hanama’ulu, Kaua’i, on April 9, 1923, he was a Truck Driver for Lihu’e Plantation.
He is survived by his wife: Faye G. Perreira, of Lawa’i; two daughters: Gwen (Nolan) Paglinawan of O’ahu; Marilyn (Winston) Lee of O’ahu; three sons: Roland (Elizabeth) Perreira of O’ahu; Leslie (Marcia) Perreira of Maui; Clayton (Sharleen) Perreira of O’ahu; one sister: Katie Ortiz of Lihu’e; 10 grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, March 16, at Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo, from 9 a.m. – 9:45 a.m. where services will be celebrated at 10 a.m. by Father Keahi. Casual attire is suggested.
