Michie Dobashi Miyoshi
Michie Dobashi Miyoshi of Albuquerque, NM and formerly of Kaua’i, died Dec. 5, 2001, in Albuquerque, N.M. at the age of 88.
Born Nov. 16, 1913, in Lihu’e, Kaua’i, she had many talents, including a green thumb, gift for flower arranging and singing talent.
Preceded in death by her husband, Isamu and son, Gerald, she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Geri, daughter-in-law, Sandi, five granddaughters; three great grandsons; brother Masaharu and family, sister Katherine Shinohara and family and numerous nephews and nieces, as well as special Albuquerque friend, Janice Ouchi.
Michie’s vivaciousness and dedication were a gift to her cherished Kaua’i community, which she and her late husband Isamu devoted themselves immeasurably to for over 50 years and to the Lihu’e Hongwanji Mission.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Jan. 5, at the Lihu’e Hongwanji Mission at 1:30 p.m. followed by services at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Lihu’e Hongwanji Mission, P.O. Box 1248, Lihu’e, HI 96766.
Jeremy Le Frederick DuPree
Jeremy Le Frederick DuPree of Ottawa, formerly of Hawai’i, died Friday, Dec. 21, 2001 in an automobile accident on IL Rt. 71, near Jonesville, at the age of 20.
Born on July 7, 1981 in Oceanside, California. He was a Star Baseketball Player for Kapa’a High School 1998-1999. He had moved to Ottawa to attend Illinois Valley Community College and had been living with his Aunt and Uncle, Elaine and Charles Baker, of Ottawa.
He is survived by his mother: Krystal (Bobbye) Flores DuPree of Kapa’a; father: Frederick of Richmond, Indiana; one sister: Tarice DuPree of Kamuela, Hawai’i; three brothers: Patrick Kavanaugh, Keolalani Lee Larson, and Freddie Biga-DuPree, a step brother Jeremy Tyler, his maternal grandmother Sharon Leslie of Kapa’a, Hawai’i, maternal grandfather: James Vitello, of Honolulu, Hawai’i; paternal grandmother: Geraldine DuPree of Richmond, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather: Joseph DuPree.
A memorial service in his honor will be held on Sunday, Jan. 6, 1 p.m. at his mother’s home in Kapahi. The address is 6745 Kawaihau Road. Please call 822-9933 for directions.

Tyler-Jordon Haaheo o Kaiulani Koji Keale-Ho of Anahola, Kaua’i, died at home on Dec. 30, 2001 at the age of 1 month, 3 weeks. Born in Honolulu, Oahu on Nov. 8, 2001.
He is survived by parents, Vernon Ho and Paradise Keale of Anahola, Kaua’i; sister, Rayna Palaualelo of Anahola, Kaua’i; maternal grandparents, Moses & Bertxandria Keale of Anahola, Kaua’i; paternal grandmother, Alma Ho of Honolulu, Oahu; great-grandfather, Wallace Nakagawa of Honolulu, Oahu; great-grandmothers, Dianne Lee Keale of Anahola, Kaua’i, Ruth Malia Paler of San Francisco, CA., and Thelma Nakagawa of Honolulu, Oahu; numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 8, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel; service officiated by Rev. Donna Kuuleimokihana Wichimai will begin at 10:30 a.m. Casual or aloha attire is suggested.
