Beatrice Morris Souza
Beatrice Morris Souza of Lawai, Kaua’i, died at Wilcox Hospital on Dec. 29, at the age of 86.
Born in Wailuku, Maui on March 30, 1915, she was a housewife and a beloved mother of six children.
She is survived by four sons: Frank Gilbert (Ruby) Morris of Sacramento, California; Leonard (Ichiko) Morris of Omao; Herbert (Carol) Morris of Placentia, California; Melvin Roy Placentia, California; Melvin Roy (Cheryl) Morris of Lawa’i and two daughters: Sylvia Martin of Lawa’i and Laverne (Lee) Bessert of Wailua. One brother, one sister, both of California, 25 grand children and 26 great-grand children, also survives her.
Family and friends may call on Jan. 12, at Kalaheo Missionary Church with visitation from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. followed by services and burial at Kaua’i Memorial Gardens. Services will be officiated by Reverend Butch Kahawai. Casual attire is sugested, flowers omitted.

John “Butch” Kaapuiki Kekahu, III of Koloa, Kaua’i, died on Jan. 3, 1943 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital, at the age of 58.
He is survived by his mother: Rebecca Mikala Kekahu of Anahola; companion: Joan Britton of Koloa; two daughters: Ruby Kekahu of Koloa, Merlene (Leonard) Picanso of O’ahu; four sons: John Kekahu of Kalaheo, Aaron (Angie) Pahia of O’ahu, Charles Kekahu of O’ahu, Daniel Kekahu of O’ahu; one brother: Kawika (Lillian) Kekahu of Anahola; two sisters: Rowena Smith of Anahola and Rhoda (Reuben) Simeona of Hilo; 13 grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunties, and uncles.
Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, Jan. 6, at Kaua’i Veterans Hall in Lihu’e from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. when services will be conductedm. Cremation to follow. Casual attire is suggested.

Vivencio Villaflor
Vivencio Calma Villaflor of Kalaheo, Kauai, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Dec. 25, 2001, at the age of 89.
Born in Argao, Cebu, Philippines on Jan. 13, 1912, he was a retired welder with McBryde Sugar Plantation.
He is survived by sons, Vivencio Franklin (LaVerne) Villaflor of Hanama’ulu, Kaua’i and Allan Villaflor of Kalaheo, Kaua’i; daughters, Norma McDonald of Kailua, O’ahu and Vanessa (Jeffrey) Bobiles of Kalaheo, Kaua’i; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will start at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 5, at the Holy Cross Catholic Church. Mass officiated by Father Christopher Keahi will begin at 11 a.m. followed by burial at the Hanapepe Public Cemetery. Aloha attire is suggested.
