Edith Fujimura
Edith Fujimura of Waimea, Kauai, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Dec. 19, 2001 at the age of 71.
Born in Waimea, Kauai on Sept. 8, 1930, she was a retired cafeteria cook with Waimea High School.
She is survived by son, Glen (Bernie) Fujimura of Waimea, Kauai; daughters, Patty (Richard) Raralio of Hanama’ulu, Kaua’i and Lynn (Dennis) Cummings of Antioch, Calif.; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; mother, Shizuo Okada of Waimea, Kaua’i; brother, James (Ethel) Okada of Waimea, Kaua’i; sister, Lillian (Melvin) Murakami of Mililani, O’ahu; sister-in-law, Yumiko Okada of Waimea, Kaua’i; numerous nieces and nephews. Service were private.
Arrangements were handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
Clyde Yamamoto
Clyde Jiro Yamamoto of Lihu’e, Kaua’i, died Dec. 21, 2001, at the age of 53.
Born in Lihu’e, Kaua’i, on Nov. 9, 1948, he is survived by wife, Jocelyn L. Iida-Yamamoto, daughters Yvette (Dan) Togikawa, Raquel (Gaylord Kaohi) Almeida; Ashley Yamamoto; son, Brad Almeida; brothers James (Karen) Yamamoto of Kauai; Gary (Susan) Yamamoto of O’ahu and three grandchildren. Also surviving are in-laws, Benedict (Alice) Iida of Lihu’e; brothers-in-law, Ron (Jean) Iida of Lihu’e and Sherwood (Sylvia) Iida of Kapa’a.
A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and son, Clyde was an avid fisherman, an active supporter and former chair of the Kaua’i Easter Seals’ Annual Fishing Tournament for approximately 15 years. He was a service technician at The Gas Company for more than 23 years.
Services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 29, beginning with visitation at 1 p.m. to be followed by services at 2 p.m. at Borthwick/Kaua’i Mortuary.
Ernesto Moises
Ernesto Ramirez Moises of Kapa’a, Kaua’i, died at his residence on Dec. 23, 2001, at the age of 69.
Born in the Philippines, he was an irrigator for Lihu’e Plantation.
He is survived by his wife: Jovita Dacutan Moises of Kapa’a; five daughters: Leny (Larry) Galvez of California; Marlene (Phillip) Villanueva of Kapa’a; Connie (Richard) Moises of Wailua; Virginia (Willie) Gaters of California; Tess (Richard) Abigania of Kapa’a; five sons: Fidel (Arlene) Moises of California; Juan (Tita) Moises of Kapa’a; Nestor (Anne) Moises of California; Ernesto Moises of California; Joseph Moises of O’ahu; two brothers: Luis (Clarita) Moises and Eusebio Moises both of the Philippines; three sisters: Saturina Moises of the Philippines; Victoria (Matt) Clarin of Washington; and Joven (Thomas) Esperon of California; 18 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, Dec. 30, at Borthwick Kaua’i Mortuary Chapel from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Rosary at 7 p.m. Visitation again are scheduled for Monday, Dec. 31, at St. Catherine’s Church from 8:30 a.m. mass to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. by Father Coyle. Burial at the Kalapaki Bay Cemetery to follow. Casual attire are suggested.
