Manuel Lutao
Manuel Lutao of Honolulu and formerly of Kaumakani, Kaua’i, died Dec. 19, 2001, at St. Francis West Hospice at the age of 67.
Born Dec. 31, 1933, in Waimea, Kaua’i, he was a retired security guard for Punahou High School.
He is survived by brothers Domingo Lutao of Kaumakani, Salvador Lutao and Mansueto Lutao, both of Honolulu, Cornilio Lutao Jr., Leo Lutao, Joseph and Ferindo Lutao, all of the Philippines; sisters, Conchita Lapez of Honolulu, Patricia Carriada, Zeny Candari and Angeles Lutao, all of the Philippines; step mother, Lucaia Lutao of the Philippines, several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 29, at Borthwick Mortuary on O’ahu with service at 11 a.m. and burial to follow at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery at 2 p.m. Aloha attire is suggested.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Mortuary of O’ahu.
Clyde Yamamoto
Clyde Jiro Yamamoto of Lihu’e, Kaua’i, died Dec. 21, 2001, at the age of 53.
Born in Lihu’e, Kaua’i, on Nov. 9, 1948, he is survived by wife, Jocelyn L. Iida-Yamamoto, daughters Yvette (Dan) Togikawa, Raquel (Gaylord Kaohi) Almeida; Ashley Yamamoto; son, Brad Almeida; brothers James (Karen) Yamamoto of Kauai; Gary (Susan) Yamamoto of O’ahu and three grandchildren. Also surviving are in-laws, Benedict (Alice) Iida of Lihu’e; brothers-in-law, Ron (Jean) Iida of Lihu’e and Sherwood (Sylvia) Iida of Kapa’a.
A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and son, Clyde was an avid fisherman, an active supporter and former chair of the Kaua’i Easter Seals’ Annual Fishing Tournament for approximately 15 years. He was a service technician at The Gas Company for more than 23 years.
Services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 29, beginning with visitation at 1 p.m. to be followed by services at 2 p.m. at Borthwick/Kaua’i Mortuary.
Bud L. Aguiar
Bud L. Aguiar of Kapaa, Kauai, died on Dec. 20, 2001 at the age of 74.
Born in Lihu’e, Kaua’i on Apr. 30, 1927, he was a retired Postal Carrier with Kapaa Post Office.
He is survived by sons, Kyle B. Aguiar of Kapaa, Kauai and Spence B. (Suzanne) Aguiar of Kapaa, Kauai; two grandchildren; sister, Yvonne L. Caplener of Big Island; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Service will be held at a later date.
