Russell Lahuta, of Lihu’e, Kaua’i, died on Oct. 5, 2001 at his home in Lihu’e, at the age of 88.
Born in Pennsylvania, on July 24, 1913, He was a automotive manager.
He is survived by his daughter: Margaret (Stanley) Gonsalves of Lihu’e, one sister: Anna Silfies of Pennsylvania, 5 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held in Pennsylvania.

Hisako Morihisa
Hisako N. Morihisa of Lihu’e, Kaua’i, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Oct. 4, 2001, at the age of 89.
Born in Lihu’e, Kaua’i, on Aug. 16, 2001, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband: Victor Morihisa of Lihu’e, Kaua’i; one son: Sam Morihisa of Lihu’e, Kaua’i; two brothers: George (Janet) Nakamura of Seattle, WA., Satoru Nakamura of Los Angeles, CA; two sisters: Hanako Seki of Lihu’e, Kaua’i; Helen (Noboru) Okamoto of Wailua Houselots, Kaua’i, numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 11, at the Lihu’e Christian Church; services officiated by Rev. Chun will begin at 11 a.m. Casual attire is suggested and flowers be omitted.

Leonard “Leo” Pascua
Leonard “Leo” S. Pascua of Kilauea, Kaua’i, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Sept. 30, 2001 at the age of 60.
Born in the Philippines on Sept. 27, 1941, he was a Foreman for installing water lines.
He is survived by two daughters: Madeleine “Maddie” Pascua of Kilauea; Kristie “Titi” Pascua of Kilauea; four sisters: Clarina Madamba of Kapa’a; Enriqueta (Manoio) Tiu of Kapa’a; Egiorina (Jose) Beltran of Kapa’a; Jadelyn (Larry) Rosa of Kilauea; one brother: Victor Pascua of Boston; and one grandson: Tylor Pacheco of Kilauea.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, Oct. 11, at St. Sylvesters Church in Kilauea from 9 a.m. to 10:50 a.m. where services will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Rosary at 9:30 a.m. Casual attire is suggested.

Chiyoko Miura
Chiyoko Miura of Kapa’a, Kaua’i, formerly of Hilo, Hawai’i, died at Leahi Hospital in Honolulu on Oct. 4, 2001 at the age of 83.
She was the proprietor of Sahara Dry Cleaning, a member of the Kapa’a Jodo Mission Kyodan and Fujinkai, and born in Kapa’a, Kaua’i.
She is survived by sons: Gerald (Carol Miura of Honolulu and Steve (Eve) Miura of Hilo; daughters: Jean (Allan) Morimoto of Aiea, Judith (Dr. Milton) Fujiuchi of Hilo, and Karen (Daniel) Yamaguchi of Kapa’a; brother: Atsushi “Archie” Sahara of Lihu’e; sisters: Yoshiko (Warren) Furuhashi and Itsuyo Kashiwada both of Honolulu; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; nephews, nieces and many other relatives.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, Oct. 12, 4 p.m. at the Kapa’a Jodo Mission; funeral service over the ashes will begin at 5 p.m.

Angelo Calvan
Angelo Aginaldo Calvan of Kaumakani, Kaua’i, died at his residence on Oct. 3, 2001 at the age of 75.
Born in the Philippines on Jan. 2, 1926, he was a laborer.
He is survived by his wife: Maria Calvan on Kaumakani; four sons: Ernesto (Cherelyn) Calvan; Andre (Ernanie) Calvan; Romeo (Wilma) Calvan; Roger Calvan; one daughter: Editha (Isidro) Suniga; one sister: Cathlina Sagucio; one brother: Gregory (Visitascion) Calvan; 32 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, Oct. 12, at ‘Ele’ele Episcopal Church from 9 a.m. – 9:45 a.m. where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Hanapepe Filipino Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.
