On goes the Rice Street project.
The installation of new drains on Rice – part of the massive project that includes widening the street and other major improvements – will continue for the next week in front of Lihue Townhouse, going in the direction of Kalena Street.
Drain structures will also be installed between Kalena and Kuhio Highway. In addition, electrical duct line will be laid from in front of Dani’s restaruant toward Kuhio.
Kaua’i County officials and Goodfellow Brothers, the project’s general contractor, yesterday repeated earlier requests for the public’s cooperation in observing the posted speed limits throughout the construction zone.
Officials also urged motorists to use extra caution when driving on Rice Street, especially during the hours of construction.
Rice will remain open to traffic during the construction period. Additional parking is available at Kaua’i War Memorial Convention Hall.
