Chai “Red” Tin of Koloa, Kaua’i, died at home on Aug. 27, 2001, at the age of 79.
Born in Waipahu, Oahu on Jan. 28, 1922, He was a retired truck driver and equipment operator with the County of Kaua’i.
He is survived by his wife: Conchita Tin of Koloa, Kaua’i; four sons: Timothy Tin, of Koloa, Kaua’i, Thomas (Cindy) Tin of Kalaheo, Kaua’i, James (Erlyn) Tin of Anahola, Kaua’i, Kahoku Tin of Oma’o; three daughters: Ruth (Roderick) Kanoa of Kekaha, Kaua’i, Tamar Tin of San Diego, CA, Theola (Samuel) DeCosta of Hauula, O’ahu; 10 grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, Sept. 2, 10 a.m. at the Prince Kuhio Park at Po’ipu; services to being at noon. Aloha attire is suggested.

Florendo Coloma
Florendo C. Coloma of Kapa’a, Kaua’i, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital, on Aug. 24, 2001 at the age of 58.
Born in the Philippines, on Nov. 26, 1942, He was an Irrigator with the Sugar Industry for Lihu’e Plantation Sugar.
He is survived by his wife: Clarita Domingo Coloma of Kapa’a, Kaua’i; one daughter: Eileen Gonzalez of Kapa’a, Kaua’i; three sons: Edwardo (Eloise) Coloma of Kapa’a, Kaua’i, Edgardo Coloma of California, Christopher Coloma of Nevada; two sisters: Lyrie (Pat) Garasi, Kapa’a, Kaua’i, Nerie (Carmelo) Hernandez of Hanama’ulu, 8 grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, Aug. 31, at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Kapa’a, from 9:30 a.m. Mass to be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow at the St. Catherine’s Catholic Church Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.

Terry W. Street of Honolulu, formerly of Princeville, Kaua’i, died on Aug. 27, 2001 at the age of 55.
Born in Columbus, Ohio. Owner of Aloha Mortgage, Inc.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy; son: Wayne Street, daughters: Heidi Street and Kristy Redfield; parents, Bill and Maxine Street; brother, Tom Street.

Claudio Lumacad, Jr.
Claudio B. Lumacad, Jr. of Koloa, Kaua’i, died at home on Aug. 26, 2001, at the age of 74.
Born in Lihu’e, Kaua’i, on March 19, 1927, he was a Heavy Equipment Operator.
He is survived by his wife: Lilian Inoshita Lumacad of Koloa, one son, Claude (Karen) Lumacad of Koloa, one daughter: Donna (Robert) Yamamoto of Koloa; one sister: Flora Bukoski of Koloa, 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, Aug. 31, at Borthwick Kaua’i Mortuary Chapel in Koloa, from 2 p.m. Services to be celebrated at 3 p.m. Burial to follow at The Kaua’i Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe. Casual attire is suggested.

Edward Duarte
Edward Duarte of Makaweli, Kaua’i, died at Kaua’i Veterans Hospital, on Aug. 27, 2001, at the age of 77.
Born in Makaweli, Kaua’i, on June 14, 1924, he was a shop foreman as a mechanic. He was a shop superintendent for Gay & Robinson for 45 years.
He is survived by his wife: Laura Duarte, five sons: Howard (Tina) Duarte, Dennis (Chantal) Duarte, Tommy (Barbie) Duarte, Bennett (Pupu) Duarte, Alan (Liza) Duarte; three daughters: Gladys Louise Taylor, Betty (Michael) Pesce, Arlene Heiser, three brothers: David (Flora) Duarte, George (Sarah) Duarte, Steven (Diana) Duarte, one son-in-law: Gigi Fiorucci, 11 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Sept. 1, at the Sacred Hearts Catholic Church in Waimea from 1 p.m. Mass to be celebrated at 2:30 p.m. Casual attire is suggested.

Florentino Paler
Florentino Paler of Anahola, Kaua’i, died at home on Aug. 21, 2001, at the age of 63.
Born in Moloa’a, Kaua’i on Aug. 17, 1938, he was a maintenance worker with Kaua’i Surf.
He is survived by: three daughters: Noe (Norman) Hookano of Makaweli, Kaua’i, Sandy (Moke) Keale of Anahola, Kaua’i, and Lovey (Kaipo) Napoleon of Wailua, Kaua’i; seven grandchildren; brother: Vernon (Phyllis) Paler of Wailua, Kaua’i; two sisters: Lorraine (Johnny) Corpuz of Hanama’ulu, Kaua’i and Asuncion Jacinto of Hanama’ulu, Kaua’i; numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 1, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel; service to begin at 11 a.m. Followed by cremation. Casual attire is suggested.
