Kapa’a basketball coach Michael Ban will direct the Third Annual Kapa’a Warriors Youth Basketball camp June 6-9 at the Kapa’a High School Gym.
Grades kindergarten through sixth will compete from 1:30 to 4 p.m. each day, while grades seven through 11 will run between 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
Applications may be picked up at any Kapa’a School, Kilauea School, King Kaumualii, St. Catherine’s and at the Pono Market. The cost will be $30 for each child and will include a basketball.
Waiakea High School coach Marc Saito will serve as a special guest.
The Warrior Youth Basketball Camp will cover such topics as footwork, ball handling, shooting, passing, defensive skills, offensive moves and rebounding. Ending each day will be the “Chalk Talk for Life” which will focus on the importance of academics, peer pressure/friends, attitude and teamwork.

Island basketball tourney in June
The first-annual All-Kaua’i Men’s & Women’s Basketball Tournament will be held Friday, June 29 through Sunday, July 1 at Kaua’i High School.
Two men’s divisions will be contested: Open and six-foot and under. Eligible players are welcome to participate in both divisions. T here will also be one women’s division.
Players of all ages, including high school, are encouraged to compete.
The tournament will be double-elimination, and the entry deadline is June 22. The tourney entry fee will be $200. Any interested players or teams should contact tournament coordinator Kaleo Perez at 245-4948 or page him at 644-1274.
Koloa Pop Warner Registration info.
The Koloa Pop Warner Association will have a registration sign-up for the tackle divisions (Junior Pee Wee, Pee Wee and Midget – ages 8-10 years old) June 5-7 from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Koloa Park locker room pavilion.
All interested participants are required to bring a copy of their birth certificate and medical insurance card. Registration, medical treatment consent and athlete’s medical information forms will need to be filled out completely.
Full payment of the registration fee will also be required at the time of sign-up.
Also, June 5 will be the cheer squads last date to sign-up. The final uniform order will be placed on Wednesday, June 6.

Tennis & Swim camp
The Kaua’i Coconut Beach Resort Tennis Club will be holding its Summer Jr. Tennis and Swim Camp over three sessions beginning in June.
The first session runs Monday, June 11 through Friday, June 29. The second session runs Monday, July 9 through Friday, July 27. The third session runs Monday, August 6 through Wednesday, August 22. Camp days will be Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
