Rodney “Boy” Bacio of Torrance, California, died at home on October 29, 2000. Born in Pakala on October 21, 1945.
He is survived by his wife Charlene and sons Brandon and Justin of Torrence, California and Patrick (Amy) of Denton, Texas. He is also survived by his father, Isidoro Bacio of Pakala and his brothers Pedro (Amancha) of Waimea, Kaua’i, Fredrick (Momi) and Kurt of Pakala. His sisters Josephine (Paul) Brede of Anahola, Annette (Burt) Moriguchi of Kailua, Oahu, Geraldine (Bill) Sallisbury of Honolulu.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, May 12, 2001 at 2 p.m. After a short service, his ashes will be scattered in the ocean fronting his dad’s home in Pakala where he grew up as a child.
Mary Simbre
Mary Caronilla Simbre of Lihu’e, Kaua’i, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on May 5, 2001, at the age of 89.
Born in the Philippines, July 22, 1911, she was a retired bus girl for a restaurant.
She is survived by nine sons: Pancing (Esther) Lopez of Kaumakani; Lorenzo Simbre of Waimea; Eugene Ventura of Waialua; Eddy Ventura of California; Robert (Carol) Ventura of Oahu; Stephen Simbre of Hilo; James Simbre of Kekaha; Richard Simbre of Kekaha; Richard Simbre of Oahu; Urbano (Robin) Simbre, Jr. of Oahu; five daughters: Jane Ringor of Oahu; Leonita Jeffries of Lihu’e; Elizabeth Jardin of Texas; Shirley (Wayne Allen) Simbre-Medeiros of Kekaha; Beatrice Simbre of Oahu; two sisters: Jane Hilario of Kilauea; Solidad (Regalado) Fernandes of Puhi; 53 grandchildren, 99 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, May 15, at St. Theresa Church in Kekaha from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation are scheduled again on Wednesday, May 16 at St. Theresa’s Church, from 9 a.m. Mass to be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow at the Kaua’i Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kaua’i Mortuary.
