The Kauai Polo Club will open the 2001 season at Anini Field on Sunday, May 6, at 3:00 p.m. with a round robin tournament featuring three outstanding teams. Ron Bonaguidi’s Hanalei Bay team with Herman Louis DeCoite, Krista Hawley and Kamalu Sheldon, will be facing off against Brandywine and Coldwell Banker-Bali Hai Realty. Dori Weymouth’s Brandywine features six-goal player Kimo Huddleston, Bob Rambo and Michelle Linstedt; while the Bali Hai team features Hal Hargrave, John Elwin, Peter Cameron and the popular Californian Kim Kelly. Spectators will be able to follow the play closely with Mike Sheehan announcing.
The gate opens at 2:00 p.m.. The public is welcome. Admission is $5.00 per person.
The paddocks are filled with beautiful thoroughbreds, the smell of new leather is in the air, Anini Polo Field is as pretty as a putting green. Be ready to see the players on eight athletic horses as they race past youand feel the thunder!
