It’s down to a final week of play in Kaua’i Soccer Association league play, and in a couple of divisions, first place is still up for grabs.
The most anticipated contest will unfold Saturday in Waimea at about 9 a.m. when Lihu’e faces the Kalaheo Blue Dolphins in the girls under-12 division. Each team has eight wins, and the undefeated Lihu’e team delivered the Blue Dolphins their only loss of the season. The winner of the game will get the top seed in the KSA playoffs beginning next week.
All playoff seeding will be determined by the league standings after week 10.
There’s also a bit of drama left in the girls under-10 division, where the Lihu’e Angels currently hold the top spot with 22 points. The Kalaheo Rip Tides are not far behind – with 19 – and will need some help to catch the Angels.
There aren’t any especially tight races on the boys’ side, as each division leader is in firm control.
