Pedro Soriano
Pedro Guzman Soriano of Lihu’e, Kaua’i, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on April 9, 2001, at the age of 91.
A retired field supervisor with Lihu’e Plantation, he was born May 3, 1909, in Mapandan, Pangasinan, Philippine Islands.
Pre-deceased by his wife, Juana .C. Soriano, he is survived by two sons: Bernard (Bonnie) Soriano of Sacramento, Calif., and Peter (Marita) Soriano of Los Angeles, Calif.; one daughter: Carmela (Royden) Pablo of Lihu’e, Kaua’i; and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Immaculate Conception Church in Kapaia on Friday, April 20, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. A prayer service will be held at 11 a.m. Burial will be private.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary.
Yoshie Oyadomari
Yoshie Oyadomari of Lihu’e, Kaua’i, died April 2, 2001, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 97.
A seamstress, she was born Oct. 13, 1903, in Japan.
She is survived by three daughters: Alice (Edward) Hisley of Maryland, Jane (Wayne) Sadamitsu of Lihu’e, and Ruby (Walter) Saito of Ewa Beach, O’ahu; five sons: James (April) Oyadomari of Lihu’e, George (Misao) Oyadomari, Dwight (Mabel) Oyadomari, Kenneth (Doris) Oyadomari, and Thomas (Alinda) Oyadomari, all of O’ahu; 19 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Private services were held. Arrangements were handled by Borthwick/Kaua’i Mortuary.
Rebecca Laspobres
Rebecca Kuuleimilimili Kapahu Laspobres of Kekaha, Kaua’i, died April 5, 2001, at St. Francis Hospital at the age of 52.
An ALC helper, she was born Sept. 17, 1948, in Waimea.
She is survived by her mother: Miriam “Momi” Kapahu of Kekaha; three sisters: Helene (Tommy) Vierra of Kalaheo, Mona (Bob) McCullough of California, and Wanda (Damien) Freitas of Hanapepe; one brother: Howard (Pat) Naleimaile of Omao; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation and service will be held at the family residence at 8101 Kekaha Road at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 17, 2001.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick/Kaua’i Mortuary.
