Yesterday’s winter storm temporarily closed one of two lanes on Kuhio Highway by the Hanalei Bridge, slowing traffic to Hanalei, Wainiha and Ha’ena.
The single lane by the Hanalei Bridge was closed early this morning after water from the river rose and covered parts of the road, according to a Hanalei station police officer.
Traffic moved on both lanes after the closed lane was reopened at 6:30 a.m. after water in the river subsided, the officer said.
Kaua’i police also reported branches falling on parts of Koke’e Road and along Maluhia Road, but that state and county workers had either removed them or were in the process of removing them.
