I am writing to express my concern about the possible sale by Grove Farm Co. of
the land holdings at Maha’ulepu for real estate development.
This area of
our coastline, so wild and beautiful and full of historical importance to
Hawai’i, is as yet unscarred by the development that has reached from Lawai to
Shipwreck Beach. With many as-yet unoccupied units in development on the south
shore, we need to find a way to preserve this precious natural resource from
being needlessly squandered. Maha’ulepu should be set aside from development
and preserved for all to enjoy.
