UHH and HPU remain undefeated at tourney

HILO, Hawaii (AP) – Host University of Hawaii at Hilo and Hawaii Pacific

University were undefeated after Thursday’s opening action at the Hawaiian

Style Classic women’s volleyball tournament.

The Vulcans scored victories

over Cal State-Dominguez Hills (15-4, 15-12, 8-15, 15-6) and Texas

A&M-Commerce (15-3, 6-15, 15-10, 15-4), while HPU defeated Texas

A&M-Commerce (15-5, 15-8, 15-4) and Northwood (5-15, 15-6, 15-9,

15-12).

Brigham Young University-Hawaii downed Chaminade University (15-4,

15-8, 15-7) after losing to Northwood (9-15, 16-14, 16-14, 15-6). Chaminade

also lost to Cal State-Dominguez Hills (16-14, 15-10 15-12).

The tournament

continued Friday at Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium with seven more matches.

Results, however, were not available to The Garden Island at press time.
