KAPA’A – A female visitor has been questioned by Kaua’i police officers in
connection with a Saturday night incident in which a 47-year-old Kapa’a
pedestrian was struck on Kuhio Highway in Kapa’a.
The pedestrian, whose
name was not released, was treated for leg injuries at Wilcox Hospital and
remains in stable condition, said Lt. Stan Koizumi of KPD’s Traffic Safety
Division.
Police located the woman after witnesses gave investigators the
license plate of the vehicle she was driving at the time of the accident, which
was reported shortly after 8:30 p.m., Koizumi said.
The vehicle, which was
headed toward Hanalei at the time of the accident, was confiscated as evidence
by the KPD, Koizumi said.
Witnesses said the accident tied up Kapa’a
traffic for hours.
