POIPU — A large crowd is expected to gather at Poipu Beach Park on Saturday, between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., for a community-organized celebration to honor the late Stella Burgess.
To accommodate the event, the Kauai Police Department will be assisting in monitoring traffic flow in the surrounding areas and would like motorists to be prepared for changes in traffic patterns and traffic delays.
Throughout the duration of the event, no parking will be allowed on Hoone Road, from the Marriott Waiohai Beach Club to Nalo Road. However, parking will be allowed on Hoowili Road, which is normally a “No Parking” zone.
Parking will also not be available at the Poipu Shopping Village or Joe’s on the Green.
Dedicated parking will be provided at the Poipu Beach Park parking lot to those with accessible parking placards, kupuna, and delivery vehicles.
Event organizers are providing a free shuttle service from Kiahuna Plantation Drive to Poipu Beach Park from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
