Colors for Cancer 2015, a benefit for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life team Colors for Cancer, is scheduled next month.
The fun run/walk through veils of colored nontoxic powders is coordinated by Heidi Herr, an alumnus of Kauai High School, who started Colors for Cancer last year as her senior project at the North Vidinha fields.
“Everyone had so much fun during the first race, I couldn’t resist having another one,” Herr said in an email. “This year’s run will circle the Vidinha Stadium soccer fields for a total of three miles with lots of excitement along the way. Participants from age 3 and up are sprayed with a rainbow of colored powders making this run the most colorful three miles on Kauai.”
This year’s event is set for 9 a.m. June 27 at the North Vidinha soccer fields. Race-day registration starts at 7:30 a.m.
In-person registration and packet pickup will also be accepted on June 26 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at Vidinha Stadium.
Visit www.racesonline.com, key word “Colors For Cancer” to register. T-shirts are guaranteed for pre-registered participants only.
