Ken Kenichi Miyoshi
Ken Kenichi Miyoshi of Wailua, Kauai, passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on December 14, 2015 at the age of 57. He was born in Lihue, Kauai on December 28, 1957.
Retired from Hawaiian Dredging, he was an avid fisherman and an award winning crab expert. He was recently filmed by “Extreme Fishing with Robson Green” to be aired on National Geographic. He will be well remembered as the owner of Masa’s Shave Ice, who has served the community with his delicious shave ice.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Kenichi and Haruno Miyoshi.
He is survived by his wife, Joy; son, Kelsey of Seattle, WA; daughter, Kori of Wailua, Kauai; parents, Kenneth and Mae Miyoshi of Honolulu, Oahu; brother, Lon Miyoshi of Honolulu, Oahu; mother-in-law, Hazel Yanagida of Kapaa, Kauai; sister-in-law Linda (Mark) Naea of Kula, Maui; beloved dog; Molly; friend and business partner, Calvin Fukushima of Lihue, Kauai; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Lihue Hongwanji Mission; service officiated by Rev. Takashi. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. and service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Scattering to follow.

Taylor Keolakaho’omana Kanahele-Keamoai
Taylor Keolakaho’omana Kanahele-Keamoai passed away at the age of 24 on December 6, 2015. He was a factory worker at Kauai Coffee for 6 years.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Elsie Haoli Niau-Keamoai; Kama and Lama Kaohelauli’i; Aunties Kauai Keamoai and Debroah Kubo.
Keola is survived by his parents, Chris and Charity “Mano” Kanahele; brothers, Christopher Keolaonalani Kanahele, Chris Napomaikai Kanahele, Robert Kanahele and Johnston Kanahele; sister, Tiana Wailama Kanahele; Grandpa Keoki (Virginia) Keamoai of Hanapepe; Aunties, Peggy Kaohelauli’i, Mahealani Kanahele, Nalei Hi’ilei of Hanapepe, Kemamo (Brad) Betts of California and Kaimi Strickland of Kalaheo; hanai brothers, Josh “Kana” Niau-Kanahele of Ele’ele, Waylon Kanahele of Hanapepe; cousins, Jake Kaleohoomana Kaohelaulii of Kekaha, Bryce “Nali’i” Kaohelauli’i, Maka, Mano, Hauoli Keamoai and Kaimilei, Ikaika, and Keoki Strickland; along with numerous cousins, aunties, and uncles.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, December 26, 2015 at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel in Lawai. Visitation will be from 9AM to 10AM with services from 10AM to 12noon. Burial will follow at the Kekaha Hawaiian Cemetery.
Casual attire is requested.
