Gliceria D. Dumbrique passed away on Nov. 5, 2015, with her family beside her at Garden Island Healthcare. She was born on May 10, 1914, in Laoag City, Philippines and was 101 years old. She was a housewife.
Gliceria is preceded in death by her parents, Ciriaco and Arcadia Domingo, husband of 67 years, Vicente Dumbrique and son, Ernesto Dumbrique.
She is survived by son Aurelio (Josie) Dumbrique of Lihue; daughters, Naty (John) Lorenzo of Koloa, Tessie (Steve) Hyde of Lihue, Liza (Ernie) Gabriel of California, and Dolly (Boyd) Schneider of Mililani; eight grandchildren, Gilburn (Tish) Lorenzo, Rachelle (Craig) Lorenzo, Aimee (Paka) Lorenzo, Vincent (Candice) Dumbrique, Denevin Dumbrique, Warren Gabriel, Christian Schneider and Justin Schneider; great-grandchildren, Maguire Lorenzo, Kolten Fujimoto, Rylie Fujimoto, and Xander Dumbrique; step great-grandchildren Cyrus and Chloe Fujimoto.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015, at the Immaculate Conception Church in Lihue. Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. with Mass at 10. Burial will be followed at Kauai Memorial Gardens.
Veronica Ancheta Tolentino
Veronica Ancheta “Taling” Tolentino of Waipahu, Oahu, passed away on Oct. 2, 2015, at the age of 84. She was born in Makaweli, Kauai, on June 3, 1931.
Veronica was preceded in death by her parents, Roberto Yasay Ancheta and Casamira Lumabao Ancheta, her husband, Adriano Tolentino, and her son, Vernon Tolentino.
Veronica is survived by her sister, Consuelo Yamane; sons, Adrian Tolentino, Robert (Sylvia) Tolentino, Ben (Davelynn) Tolentino; daughters, Linda Sue (Jose) Morillo, Roxane (Donn) Howard; 12 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren.
Veronica was formerly employed as a Clerk Stenographer at Pearl Harbor. She was a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses Waipio branch.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015, visitation 9 a.m., service 10:15, burial 11:30, at Mililani Memorial Park, Mauka Chapel, Mililani, Oahu.
Grace Padilla
Grace Padilla passed away at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital on Nov. 14, 2015, at the age of 50. Born on April 8, 1965, in Waimea, Kauai she was an assistant office manager with Garden Island Mortuary.
She is survived by her partner Jesse Trevino of Mission Texas; brothers, Eustaquio (Noreen) Padilla Jr. of Kaimuki, Honolulu and Joseph (Vivian) Padilla of Mililani, Honolulu; hanai brothers, Gil Aguilar of Honolulu, Oahu, Michael (Julie) Broyles of Hanapepe and Tim (Jan) DeLa Vega of Hanapepe; sisters, Aida Padilla-Cruz of Lihue, Gloria (Raymond) Padilla-Ramirez of Ewa Beach, Honolulu and Becky Padilla-Komaki of Hanapepe; hanai sisters, Lilian (Lee) Henricksen of Kekaha, Yvette (Roland) Cadawas of Hanamaulu and Debra Ventura of Omao; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is also preceded in death by her parents, Eustaquio B. Padilla Sr. and Pauline F. Padilla; and brother-in-law, Frank Cruz Sr.
A Celebration of Grace’s Life will be held on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015, at the West Kauai United Methodist Church in Kekaha. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. with services at 10.
The family requests casual attire and flowers are welcome.

Romeo Cristobal Juan
Romeo Cristobal Juan of Eleele Nani, Kauai, Hawaii passed away on Nov. 10, 2015, at Kauai Care Center at the age of 70. He was born on May 21, 1945, in Bungon, Batac, Ilocos Norte, Philippines.
He was employee of both Olokele and Gay and Robinson Sugar Companies in Kaumakani, Kauai where he held various positions from 1979 to 2008. Four years prior to retirement, he worked in the sugar mill as a sugar processor. His hobbies were cooking for his family, especially during family gatherings, playing cards, watching TV and reading.
Romeo was preceded in death by his parents, Catalino Juan and Gregoria Cristobal Juan, parents-in-law Lucas Molina and Ana Tejada Molina, granddaughter, Jayla Leeann Juan Celestino, sister Dolores J. Narciso, brother Elpido Juan, brothers-in-law Silverio Maluyo, Pedro Narciso, Angelo Batin, Basilio Ballesteros, Arnulfo Molina and Marino Molina, sisters-in-law Francisca Juan, Mercedes M. Cardenas and Caridad M. Ballesteros.
He is survived by his wife, Esther Molina Juan of Eleele, Kauai, his daughters, Jocelyn Marie Juan (Jeffery Celestino), and Joy (Juan) Montano, three grandchildren, Jessica Rae Celestino, Jaekob Tyler Celestino and Ilyana Romea Montano, all of them from Las Vegas, Nevada, sister, Maciana J. Maluyo of Eleele, Kauai, three brothers, Arturo (Carmen) Juan, Quirino (Rosita) Juan, and Fermin Juan, all of them from the Philippines, sisters-in-law, Cresencia Batin and Rosita Molina of Kauai, Hawaii and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles and aunties.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kalaheo. Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. with Mass to be celebrated at 10. Burial will follow at the St. Raphael’s Catholic Cemetery in Koloa.

Betty Lee Sebert
Betty Lee Sebert of Kapaa passed away at home surrounded by family on Nov. 25, 2015, at the age of 93. She was born in Ohio on May 4, 1922, and was a dedicated homemaker.
Betty is survived by one daughter, Linda (Mike) Lopez of Kapaa; one son, Denis (Dana) Sebert of Oregon; six grandchildren, Kendall Lopez of Oahu, Mikey (Carol) Lopez of Kapaa, Corie (Kai) Jack of Oahu, Kelli (Nick) LoCicero of Kapaa, Allison (Landen) Bacon of New York, Keelie Council of California and six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Kapaa beginning at 2 p.m.
Kauai Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the family with the arrangements.
Jace Ruiz
Jace Nainoa Megumi Taira Ruiz of Omao, was born on Nov. 22, 1991, in Lihue, Kauai and passed away at the age of 24 on Nov. 24, 2015, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital. He worked at Tapa’s Bar and Grill and was an avid shoreline fisherman who enjoyed hunting and diving.
He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Janice Nagato; and survived by girlfriend, Shayna Borja; his three daughters, Jayanie, Jaysha, and Jaebri; parents, Scott Ruiz and Jonelle (Colin) Taira Kakutani; sister, Kaylee Ruiz; paternal grandparents, Donald and Edith Ruiz; maternal grandparent, Megumi Nagato; and nieces, Ciana Ruiz and Railee Baniaga.
A Celebration of Jace’s Life will be held at the Koloa Missionary Church on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. with services to follow at 10.
