Now that California, Nevada, Washington, Oregon, Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts and Washington, D.C., have legalized cannabis for all adults, one has to wonder why Hawaii is so far behind the times.
Here in Hawaii, we don’t need a complicated adult use law, even just a simple law making it legal for any adult to grow 24 plants, keep the harvest, and travel with up to 16 ounces for personal use would be a step in the right direction. Consumers could be allowed to form growing clubs with others, so that retail stores would not be needed.
The police and courts look ridiculous enforcing cannabis prohibition laws that belong in the dark ages.
