Missing & Murdered Native Hawaiian Women and Girls Report Principal Investigator Nikki Cristobal, left, and MMNHWG Task Force Co-Chair Khara Jabola-Carlous prepare to present data from the report to about four dozen attendees, including Kaua‘i Police Department Chief Todd Raybuck, Kaua‘i County Council Chair Mel Rapozo and Council Members Kipukai Kuali‘i and Bernard Carvalho Jr., during the Thursday presentation at the Kaua‘i Philippine Cultural Center in Puhi.

A boat race that takes two years and covers the world? John Hawkins only recently arrived on Kaua‘i, and was visiting Tony LeHoven (another sailor) at the Talk Story Bookstore in Hanapepe (Natalie is “Da Boss,” Ed Justus said), who was doing a book signing on Friday. Tony said John will probably get his feet wet with the Nawiliwili Yacht Club racing series (it’s coming up in February).
