Bubbah’s Toy Box Collectibles &Gaming Cafe hosted a Friday trade card night (Sheldon Peralta said there even was a card valued at $40,000 once!), where an instore razzle was part of the fun that packed their new shop at Kukui Grove Center in Lihu‘e. No large gatherings, just a good flow of people.
Kudos to Project Vision Hawai‘i on getting the HiEhiE Mobile Shower on the road. Sheila Dunn (she was helping Bryan Curl with the food shopping earlier in the day at the Kaua‘i Independent Food Bank) was volunteering with staffers Darnell Costales (it’s hard work sanitizing the facility after every use) and Lenell Rodrigues-Cabanitan, who said the shower was operating at full capacity since they’ve taken it out. Sheila was being shy because she didn’t have blue on, although the Kaua‘i Juice Co. cap was blue.
Things were popping at the Sheraton Kaua‘i Coconut Beach in Waipouli, where the monthly farmers’ market and craft fair coordinated by Melissia Sugai of the Kaua‘i Made program in the county Office of Economic Development will combine with the happy-hour specials from the Crooked Surf. Ali Lahip said they’re going full service now.
Sheraton is also taking reservations for Na Lei Hiwahiwa, A Mother’s Day Wine &Dine featuring live entertainment by Kupaoa to benefit the Malie Foundation. The food offering with wine pairings will take place May 9 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Moa Moa restaurant, with a silent auction and more. Book now before it sells out.
OK, back to the Hawai‘i State Junior Golf Association tournament, where Linken Tanabe of Mililani is the youngest player in the field and there are no other junior golfers in his age group. Go, Linken. You show ‘em!
