LIHU‘E — A limited number of seats are available for the free nine-week Startup Training Resources to Inspire Veteran Entrepreneurship (STRIVE) program presented by Kaua‘i Community College and the Kaua‘i Veterans Council.
Open to all veterans, military spouses and active duty personnel with the military, STRIVE will walk a person through creating a business plan and connecting the aspiring entrepreneur with local veteran business resources.
The Kaua‘i STRIVE classes meet on Mondays at the Kaua‘i Community College between 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
“We’re getting ready to start our third STRIVE cohort on May 6,” said KVC Commander Mary Kay Hertog, a retired USAF general. “There are several unfilled slots remaining for veterans, military spouses or active duty personnel.”
On completion of the STRIVE program, individuals will have access to national veteran resources through the Institute for Veterans &Military Families and Syracuse University.
Additionally, the opportunity to obtain seed money for the aspiring business will be available on completion of the program.
