David Wayne Ibsen
David Wayne Ibsen, 54, of Kapaa, passed away on Dec. 19, 2018. He was born in Washington on July 12, 1964, and was a self-employed electrician.
He was preceded in death by father Gerald W. Ibsen.
He is survived by fiance Rose Holthaus, son Daniel Ibsen, mother Janet Skidmore, brothers Ken (Anna) Ibsen and Dean Ibsen, hanai children Susan Woods and her children Natalie, Audrey and Sophia, Jennifer (Edward) Carpenter and children Isaac, Aaron, Aydan, Teagan and Kaiya, Christopher Holthaus, hanai sisters and brothers Alfred and Heide Lardizabal, Sonya (Jess) Quel-Lardizabal and children, Ashley and Maraih, Persian Lardizabal and daughter Kaileen, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Jan. 26, at Lydgate Park, passed the big pavilion at the end of parking lot, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Roberto Damo Badua
Roberto Damo Badua, 85, of Eleele, passed away on Jan. 12, 2019, at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital.
Born on June 7, 1933 in San Nicolas, Illocos Norte, Philippines, he was a mill operator and seed cutter.
He was preceded in death by parents Juan and Atilana Badua, and brothers and sisters.
He is survived by wife Benita Badua of Eleele, sons Nathaniel (Cornelia) Badua of Lihue, Moises Badua of Eleele, Rex (Jenneen) Badua of Kekaha and Robert (Jolynn) Badua of Kekaha, daughter Janet (Jose) Rebollar of California, eight grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Jan. 26, at Garden Island Mortuary chapel in Lawai from 9 a.m., where services will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Hanapepe Public Cemetery.
The family suggests casual attire.

Fidel Baldonado
Fidel Baldonado, 88, of Kapaa, passed away on Jan. 13, 2018 at Wilcox Medical Center.
Born on April 24, 1930, in Kealia, he was a patient medical assistant.
He was preceded in death by parents Jacinto and Macaria Baldonado, and sister-in-law Perlita Baldonado.
He is survived by brothers Alfredo (Ardelina) Baldonaldo, Marcelo Baldonaldo and Benjamin (Laura) Baldonaldo, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, Jan. 24, at Borthwick Mortuary chapel in Koloa from 6 to 9 p.m., and again on Friday, Jan. 25, at St. Catherine Church in Kapaa from 8 to 9:45 a.m., where Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe.

Len Price
Christopher Len Price, 52, of Lihue, passed away on Dec. 25, 2018. He was born in California on April 8, 1966, and was a security guard with Star Protection.
He was preceded in death by sister Geraldine.
He is survived by wife Sherryann Price, children Keenan Woodward, Daniel (Amber) Woodward, Emilio (Keisha) Fernandez, Rachel Fernandez, Brandon Price and Kainoa Price, two granddaughters, father Lenwood (June) Price, and numerous brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Jan. 26, at Kauai Christian Fellowship’s North Shore Campus on Kilauea Road, with viewing from 10 a.m. and services beginning at 11 a.m. Cremation will follow.

Dionis ‘Nicia’ Niniau Doronio Bernaldes McGihon
Dionis “Nicia” Niniau Doronio Bernaldes McGihon, 68 of Waimea Valley, Kauai, passed away peacefully at Queen’s Medical Center on Dec. 20, 2018. Born on June 15, 1950 in Waimea, she was a retired school administrative assistant at Waimea High School and spent her retirement years joyfully serving as a regular pioneer with the Kekaha congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
She was preceded in death by father Dionicio Doronio and brothers Carlos Doronio, Agapito Doronio Sr. and Stanywick Yadao.
She is survived by husband James Bernaldes McGihon of Waimea, son Marcus “Kulani” (Ena) Bernaldes of Honolulu, daughters Jacqueline Bernaldes of Waimea, Jamie “Loke” Joycelyn (Marc) Cobb-Adams of Honolulu, mother Becky Niniau Kualu of Kekaha, and hanai son John “Kawika” Wilson of Kapaa, eight grandchildren, brothers Daniel Doronio of Keaau and Reuben (Agnes) Doronio of Kekaha, sisters Amore Camara of Hanapepe, Nora (Cippy) Ragocos of Kekaha and Becky “Honey Bea”(Joseph) Noon of Kentucky, and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 2, at the Kekaha Neighborhood Center lawn, with visitation from 9 a.m. and services to begin at 10:30 a.m. The family suggests aloha attire.
Paul Arnold Mason
On Jan. 4, 2019, at the age of 66, Paul Arnold Mason, a Thurston County resident, passed away from a heart attack.
He leaves behind his sister Marsha Mason Wilson and her husband Jim Wilson, nieces Lisa Wilson Tracey and Sara Wilson Lutz, their husbands and children, and many cousins. He had a full life. As a youngster his family moved from Bellevue, Washington to Caracas, Venezuela for three years.
They then were transferred to Stanford, Connecticut for a seven-year period, including a year on assignment in Paris, and enjoyed traveling throughout other European countries.
He graduated from high school in Connecticut and moved to Boston and graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Art with a major in graphic design. He established his own freelance company, Mason Design.
After graduation he enjoyed living in new places and finding new clients in Texas, Southern California, Mexico and Washington, but his heart and true home were on the east coast of Kauai. He split time between Kauai and Olympia, Washington, to be among his loving family. He loved art foremost, sprinkled in with golf, fishing and travel.
He had many great friends and was loved by everyone who knew him. He was a talented artist who could draw, paint, do photography, creatively pottery and beautiful glass works, design creative signs and eye-catching, fun packaging for food companies. He was a kind soul with a great sense of humor that was often reflected in his drawings.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May God rest his soul.
At his request, he will be cremated with ashes transported to Kauai and cast upon the ocean along his favorite beach, where he played Frisbee and golf with his friends. His Washington family will have a private celebration of life at a future time and place.
Allison Michiko Uyehara
Allison Michiko Uyehara, 90, of Hanapepe, passed away on Jan. 16, 2019, at her home.
Born on Oct. 16, 1928, in Waianae, Oahu, she was a retired librarian with Waianae High School.
She was preceded in death by husband Robert Uyehara.
She is survived by son Dean (Jocelin) Uyehara of Hanapepe, daughter Carrie (Douglas) Lee of Washington, sister Evelyn Orita of Oahu, brother Bert (Ellen) Yamashita of Oahu, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Feb. 2, at Kauai Veterans Cemetery pavilion in Hanapepe from 10 to 10:50 a.m., where services will be celebrated from 11 a.m. to noon. Inurnment will follow. There will be a luncheon to follow the inurnment back at the pavilion from 12:30 to 2 p.m.
