Jean Marie Wittrig Spencer
Jean Marie Wittrig Spencer passed away on June 17, 2018, at Hale Kupuna Heritage Home.
She was born on July 19, 1930, in Elkhart, Indiana, to Paul and Effie Wittrig, when she was 8 years old her family moved to Imaly City , Michigan where she lived until she went to Goshen College and received her B.S. in Elementary Education and spent the next 15 years as an Educator. On June 26, 1955 she married Charles Spencer. They had two children Rebecca Hostallero of Lihue and Joel and 3 grandchildren Kyle, Chenoa and Rachel.
She is survived by her sister, Mim (Delbert) Roth of Denver; brother-in-law, James of Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan; sister-in-law, Mary of South Carolina; numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on July 14, 2048, at Lihue Missionary Church, with visitation from 10:30 to 10:45 a.m and Services at 11 a.m.

Susannah Agao Eilenberg
Susannah “Sue” Agao Eilenberg, 88 years old, passed away on June 1, 2018, at Hospice Hawaii, Kailua House. Born on Kauai she moved to Oahu to work for the Federal Government.
She is survived by brothers, Sim Agao and Gabriel Agao; sisters, Frances Rapozo, Elizabeth Vellalos, Gloria Ibia, Linda Ferrara and Patricia Ferrara.
Private Services were held in Oahu.
Chai Hoku Kuhaulua
Chai Hoku Kuhaulua, 43 of Anahola, Kauai, passed on May 26, 2018, peacefully with his wife, children and grandchildren by his side.
A loving husband to Kaimana Kuhaulua (Haumea); father to daughter, Tayanie Kuhaulua; sons, Kaena (Racquel) Kuhaulua, No’eau Kuhaulua; grandfather to, Waikahe Kuhaulua and Ho’okena Kuhaulua,.
Chai is survived by his parents, Kaleihoku and Sarah (Huddy) Kuhaulua; brother, Chad (Kalei) Kuhaulua; numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
A celebration of life, A hui Hou will be held July 14, 2018, 11 a.m., located at the empty lot at the end of the Manamana St. cul-de-sac, near the family home. Family and friends welcome.
Arcadia ‘Adiang’ Cacho Caberto
Arcadia “Adiang” Cacho Caberto, 83 years old of Kaumakani, Kauai, passed away on June 17, 2018, at her home. She was born on May 6, 1935, in Narvacan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, and was a retired seed planter with Olokele Sugar Co.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Federico Caberto Sr.; parents, Valentin and Eldefonsa Cacho.
She is survived sons, Danilo (Nely) Caberto of Kekaha, Eduardo (Bessie) Caberto of Kaumakani, Saturnino Caberto of Narvacan, PI, Federico Jr (Elizabeth) of Kaumakani, Ray Caberto of Kaumakani, Roy Caberto of Kaumakani; daughter, Gloria (Fernando Sr) Calixterio of Kaumakani; 11 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, July 27, 2018, at Garden Island Mortuary Chapel in Lawai from 5 to 9 p.m. with Rosary at 6:30 p.m. Again on Saturday, July 28, 2018, at Holy Cross Church, in Kalaheo, from 8:30 to 10 a.m. where Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m.

Beatrice A. Furumoto, 86 years old, of Kealia, Kauai, passed away on June 20, 2018, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital. Born on April 12, 1932, in Lihue Kauai, she worked as a bartendress.
She is preceded in death by parents, Juan Sr. and Saturnina Asuncion; husband, Sueo Furumoto; son, Richard Furumoto; son-in-law, Louis Jourdain; brothers, Phillip and Alfredo Asuncion; sister, Dolores Stephenson.
She is survived by sons, Mark (Tracie) Furumoto of Kapaa, Kerry Furumoto of Nevada; daughters, Alix Jourdain of Nevada, Colene Schaefer of Kealia, Avis (Gerard) Koerte of Hanamaulu; daughter-in-law, Mandy Furumoto of Kapaa; 13 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; brother, Juan (Ursula) Asuncion of Oklahoma; sister-in-law, Kathleen Asuncion of Wailua; numerous nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her daughter; Frances (Fernando) Constantino of Eleele; grandson, Kylan Constantino of Eleele; granddaughter, Katelyn Constantino of Eleele, 3 brothers in the Philippines; 2 sisters in the Philippines.

Leonarda Gallardo Pascua, 87 years old, of Kekaha, Kauai, passed away on July 4, 2018, at her home in Kekaha. She was born on March 1, 1931, in the Philippines.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Eugenia Gallardo; husband, Eloy Pascua; sisters, Trinidad Gallardo Garcia and Caridad G. Galacgac; brothers, Federico and Ambrocio Gallardo.
She is survived by her sons, Jacinto (Linda) Pascua of Kekaha, Christopher (Fely) Pascua of Kekaha, Willy (Renee) Pascua of CA, Benny (Janeth) Pascua of CA; daughter, Josie (Danilo) Pascual of Honolulu; 17 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brother, Vicente Gallardo; sisters, Rosalina Gallardo Garcia, Cristeta Gallardo Walat; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Maura Bernabe Quibilan
Maura Bernabe Quibilan, 95, of Lihue, passed away at home on July 7, 2018. She was born in Cavite City, Philippines, on Aug. 22, 1922, and retired from the State of Hawaii, Department of Health as an LPN.
Preceded in death by her husband, Carlos Quibilan; parents, Nazario and Adelaida Bernabe; brothers, Pastor Bernabe, Edwardo Bernabe, Florencio Bernabe and Gerardo Bernabe.
Maura is survived by sons, Carlito (Gina) Quibilan, Bernard (Maria) Quibilan, Alejandre Quibilan, Rodney (Robin) Quibilan; 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, July 13, 2018, at Immaculate Conception church with viewing from 8 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.

Mariano L. Manera, Jr.
Mariano L. Manera, “Jr.”, 57 years old, passed away on July 4, 2018, at Straub Hospital. He was born on Aug. 14, 1960, in Lihue, Hawaii. Jr. was a Field Supervisor for Lihue Plantation Company, as well as the owner of Myron’s Restaurant. He was also a Security Officer for Samuel Mahelona Hospital, and most recently, a caregiver for a private company.
Preceded in death by his father, Mariano L. Manera, Sr., Jr is survived by his wife, Mercedes Manera; daughter, Shauna Manera of San Francisco, CA.; sons, Myron, Christian, and Marique Manera of Lihue.
He is also survived by his mother, Consolacion Manera of Hanamaulu; brothers, Mario (Tracy) Manera of Atlanta, GA, Max (Adele) Manera of Lihue, Michael (Cindra) Manera of Lihue, and Gilmark Manera of Taylor, MI; sister, Caroline (Bobby) Texeira of Kapaa; numerous nieces and nephews, as well as his many uncles and aunts.
Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, July 17, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Borthwick/Kauai Mortuary in Koloa, and on Wednesday, July 18, at Immaculate Conception Church in Kapaia, 8:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m., where mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will be at the Kauai Memorial Gardens.
