Celestina Abella
Celestina Abella of Kapaa, Kauai, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital, on Jan. 11, 2003, at the age of 59.
Born in the Philippines, on April 4, 1943, she was a yard maintenance.
She is survived by her children: Ludivina (Arthur) Dela Cruz of the Philippines, Tessie (Billy) Cummings of Kapaa, Ednalyn (JR) Abella of the Philippines, Denis (Gina) Abela of the Philippines, Rodel (Editha) Abella of the Philippines, Eden (Mario) Aladin of Kapaa, Aida (Charlie) Abella of the Philippines, Elsie (Randy) Abella of the Philippines, four sisters and 2 brothers all of the Philippines, 13 grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, Jan. 17, at the Kapaa Assembly of God Church from 8 a.m. – 9:45 a.m. where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Kauai Memorial Garden. Casual attire is suggested.

Miyako Sakai
Miyako “Toots” Sakai of Hilo, Hawaii, died on Jan. 5, 2003, at Hilo Medical Hospital, at the age of 86.
Born in S. Hilo, Papaikou, Hawaii on July 3, 1916, she was a secretary for and retired from the HITCO trucking company, owned by Konnos; she was a member of the Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin, Fujinkai and Iwalani Kumiai.
She is survived by her brother: Itsuo (Karen) Sakai of Hilo, hanai sons, Wayne Sakai of Honolulu, Calvin (Rona) Sakai of Kauai, Ronald (Georgie) Sakai of Honolulu, Donald (Elaine) Sakai of California, sisters-in-law, Shizue Sakai of San Jose, California, Tsukiko Sakai of Honolulu, numerous nephews, nieces and grand-nephews and nieces, 1 great-grand nephew and 1 great-grand niece.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Jan. 18, at Borthwick Hawaii Funeral Home from 3-4 p.m. Services to begin at 4 p.m. Family requests casual attire and no flowers.

Glen Augusto
Glen Augusto of Waimea, Kaua’i, died at home on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2003, at the age of 48.
Born in Kapa’a to Mickey and Priscilla Augusto on Oct. 4, 1954, he was raised by Juanito and Cecelia Morris and attended Kaua’i High School. Working with computers was his hobby of choice but cultivating plants and flowers was his passion.
He is survived by his wife, Katherine, with whom he exchanged vows on April 17, 1994; two stepsons: Corbin of Honolulu and Quintin of Hanapepe; and two hanai sons: Siosaia and Robb, both of Honolulu; one sister, Alberta; and three brothers: Van, Neil and Cornell, all of Kapa’a; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Friends may vsiit with the family at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 17, at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church in Lihu’e. A memorial service in celebration of his life, officiated by Rev. Jan Rudinoff, will begin at 4 p.m. The scattering of ashes will be a private service at a later date. Casual attire is suggested.

Clyde Gordon
Clyde Gordon of Texas, formerly of Kaua’i and Kailua, O’ahu, died at Marietta, Ga., on Nov. 19, 2002, at the age of 67.
Memorial service was held in Georgetown, Texas on Nov. 30, 2002.
Family and friends will gather on Sunday, Jan. 19, 2003, at 1 p.m. at Kapa’a Boat Harbor on Moana Road for the scattering of his ashes.
Mr. Gordon served 21 years in the U.S. Navy and was a retired employee of Liberty House stores.
He is survived by his wife, Jacquelin of of Texas, sons, Kenneth of Albuquerque NM; Douglas (Jana) of Georgetown, TX, Michael (Jeanning) of LIhue, and daughters Kathleen (Timothy) Fisher of Georgetown, TX, Tamara Sandersfeld of Littleton CO. There are eight grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the animal shelter or charity of your choice.
Tomi Kaneshiro
Tomi Kaneshiro of Koloa, Kauai, died at Wilcox Mememorial Hospital on Jan. 12, 2003 at the age of 86.
Born in Koloa, Kauai on July 2, 1916, she was a Kamehameha School Missionary-House mom.
She is survived by seven brothers, Sei Harvey Kaneshiro of Waipahu, Oahu, Seiso (Helen) Kaneshiro of Pearl City, Oahu, Satoshi “Sugar” (Dorothy) Kaneshiro of Koloa, Kauai, Mamoru (Joen) Kaneshiro of Koloa, Kauai, Susumu (Elaine) Kaneshiro of Aiea, Oahu, Danny Kaneshiro of Las Vegas, NV. And James (Esther) Kaneshiro of Kaneohe, Oahu; sister, Yoneko (Larry) Gushiken of Waipahu, Oahu; sister-in-law, Sueko Kaneshiro of Bellevue, WA.; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family at 2 p.m. on Sun. Jan. 19, 2003 at the Koloa Missionary Church; service officiated by Pastor Niles Kageyama will begin at 3 p.m. Casual attire is suggested and flowers omitted.
