KAPA’A — The E Hoomau Kauai Festival started Friday morning at the Kapaa Beach park. The intent of this free festival is to present and perpetuate the Hawaiian culture through entertainment, some groups coming from off-island, and food.
Mike Dowling of Polynesian Hideaway takes care of a fresh batch of malasadas for the patrons of the E Hoomau Kauai Festival whie Rachel Sokugawa, Rachel Arakawa, Joy Quensell, and Amanda Griffith of Hula Hui O kapunahele sponsored by the Nuuanu YMCA perform an impromtu hula with Vern Kawainui providing the musical acoompaniment.
The festival will continue until 7p.m. today.
