Hawaiian cultural celebration set for today

To perpetuate the Hawaiian culture is the theme of Keola Alalem’s E Hoomau Kauai Festival. He is working with members of the Kapaa High School football team to set up tents in preparation for the first E Hoomau festival which runs today from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The event at the Kapaa Beach Park is to feature live entertainment from local and off-island groups and halau.

A number of food and craft booths are also being set up.

The festival will also be open on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
