As part of a public-education campaign to raise awareness of Kaua‘i’s illegal drug problem, specifically crystal methamphetamine (ice), the public is being encouraged to slap “end-ice” bumper stickers on vehicles.
Purple bumper stickers reading “End Kaua‘i’s Ice Age,” and blue ones reading “End Hawai‘i’s Ice Age,” are available through the mayor’s office.
They have been spotted on county and private vehicles.
The bumper stickers were designed by Mayor Bryan J. Baptiste and Roy Nishida, the county’s anti-drug coordinator.
They were printed at no cost to the county by way of donation from the Saiva Siddhanta Church, Kaua‘i’s Hindu Monastery in Wailua Homesteads.
About 7,200 bumper stickers were printed.
Baptiste said the bumper stickers are available to those who want to put them on their vehicles. The stickers are being distributed at various local events, as well as through the mayor’s office.
For more information or to obtain bumper stickers for vehicles, please contact Nishida, 241-6312.
