Hurricanes to represent Hawai‘i
Congratulations to the Kaua‘i Hurricanes, who will represent the State of Hawai‘i at the Mixed Doubles 6.0 Tennis National Championships in Minnesota on November 18-21, 2004. Kaua‘i’s championship team captured the title after battling teams from O‘ahu, Maui and the Big Island.
Kudos also to Kaua‘i’s Under Dawgs, who placed second in the State Sectional Mixed Doubles Championships in the 8.0 Division. Team members include Rick Hanna, Rosemary Vali, Martha Okamoto, Diane Treskon, Koko Chang, Ed Renaltner, Katherine Bieker, Sandy Webster, Gary Joseph and Chris Webster.
AYSO Region 940 registration
AYSO last ditch Region 940 Soccer sign-ups for Ages 4.5-18 years old will take place Thursday, June 24, from 5-7 p.m. at the street side pavilion at Anne Knudsen Park (next to the old Fire station) and again on Saturday, June 26 from 8-10 a.m.
First time registered players are required to provide a birth certificate. Cost is $60.00.
Puakea Golf Course celebrates one-year anniversary
LIHU‘E — Puakea Golf Course, Hawai‘i’s newest 18-hole facility announces that it will mark its one-year anniversary with a month-long celebration featuring a number of events and special deals throughout July.
Kicking off on July 1 with a cake presentation by well-known cable television host Dickie Chang, the highlight of the celebrations will be a Family Fun Day on July 16. Fun in the sun on Hanalei Bay
The Hanalei Canoe Club will host our 19th Annual Tahiti Fete on Saturday July 3, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Enjoy outrigger canoe races, crafts, food, kids races & more. The Tahiti Fete Community Outrigger Paddling Classic Race is open to all rookies, experienced paddlers, and visitors. Bring a team of five, we supply the canoe, paddles and steersperson. Waimea youth baseball fundraiser
Waimea Youth Baseball’s Hawaiian Plate fundraiser has been moved to Sunday, June 27. With the funds raised, the team plans to participate in the Kaua‘i Aloha Tournament in California, in July. For more information, call Thomas at 645-0956.
