The most influential minds in Hawaii will converge on Kaua‘i September 5 for the annual statewide Small Business Summit.
Governor Linda Lingle, Bank of Hawaii Cheif Economist Paul Brewbaker and Philippine Consul General Rolando Gregorio will speak on a variety of business-related topics, and panel discussions will happen throughout the day. Brewbaker’s talk is titled the “Role and impact of the Filipino Labor Force in Hawaii.” Andrew Poepoe, director of the state SBA, will speak about “Contracting Opportunities for Small Businesses,” and Manuel Menendez III, executive director of economic development of Honolulu, will touch on Hawaii economic development programs. Ron Gallegos, President of Hawaii Care Homes Coalition, will highlight a case study on care homes business in Hawaii. Philippine Consul Gregorio will be the keynote speaker during the luncheon program. Governor Lingle is the guest speaker at the dinner gala.
