What happened to the County’s Green Waste Program? For years we’ve been paying our taxes to hire county workers and buy equipment to process green waste. So how come we have also been paying a private contractor $300,000 a year to process green waste, while we’re still paying the same county workers and the machines are rusting in the shop?
The $300,000 ought to be used to repair or buy new equipment and train the county workers on how to use the new machines so they don’t break. This way we only have to pay this money once, instead of every year, year after year, to the contractor.
