Alfredo A. Villanueva
Alfredo A. Villanueva of Hanama‘ulu, died Jan. 18, 1922, at his home in Hanama‘ulu. Born Jan. 18, 1922, in the Philippines, he was a mechanic for Lihu‘e Plantation.
He is survived by his wife: Leonora “Nora” A. Villanueva; two children: Sandra Mae Villanueva and Alfred Villanueva; two brothers: Leocadio Villanueva and Domingo (Nelie) Villanueva; three sisters: Anecita (Juanito) Martinez, Rosita (Andiano) Encarnacion, and Juanita (Gregorio) Alonzo; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family from 8 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. on Saturday, March 12, at Immaculate Conception Church where Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. by Father Bill. Burial to follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Kauai Memorial Gardens & Fneral Home.
Melvin Prim
Melvin Prim of Kapa‘a died March 2, 2005, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 69.
Born March 9, 1935, in Kona, Hawaii, he worked in the drywall industry.
He is survived by his wife: Judith Mundon Prim of Kapa‘a; three daughters: Belinda Prim of Florida, Sherilynn Prim of Florida and Lynnai (Paul) Gregory of Colorado; one sister: Fern Pule of Kona; one brother: William Messer of Las Vegas; two grandsons; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, March 9, at Kapa‘a First Hawaiian Church, where services will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Kapaa Public Cemetery.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Peter Colin Martin
Peter Colin Martin died Feb. 23, 2005, at Hale Kupuna Heritage Home in Lawa‘i at the age of 84 after a long illness,.
He was born of English parents on Dec. 8, 1920, and lived with his family in Florida where he became an American citizen on Nov. 14, 1951. Mr. Martin worked for the City of Titusville, FL from which he retired at the age of 62. He relocated to Hawai‘i in 1999.
He is survived by his wife, Betty of Princeville; his children: Debbie Garven of California; Peter and Robin Martin of Florida; and Steve Martin of South Carolina; grandchildren: Eli Davis and Rebecca “Scooter” Garven of California; Josiah and Marissa Martin of Florida; and Zachary and Bryson Martin of South Carolina.
Memorial services will be held on March 5, at the Kapa‘a Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Arrangements were handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Raymond Keahi
Raymond Mahoe Keahi of Moloa‘a died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Thursday, March 3.
He was the son of the late Esther Maemae and Charles Holokahiki Keahi of Huleia, Ko‘olau and Waipouli.
He is survived by his sister, Winona M. (Richard) Rosehill of O‘ahu; sisters-in-law, Blanche (Norman) Keahi of Kailua, O‘ahu, Phyllis (Joseph) Keahi and Rose (Elmer) Keahi of Anahola; many nieces and nephews and social caregivers, Joanna and Puanani, nieces of the deceased.
Services and burial will take place on Saturday, March 12, at Lihu‘e Public Cemetery. Casual attire is sugested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
