Cowboys look for revenge against Maui
By Duane Shimogawa Jr. – The Garden Island
Drew Kamana‘o and the Kaua‘i Cowboys semi-pro football squad wants you to come out and cheer them on as they face the league-leading Maui Stars tonight, 7:30 p.m. at Vidinha Stadium. The Cowboys, Kaua‘i’s only semi-pro football team is 2-1 on the season.
“We got beat up against Maui the last time, but we were only playing with 11 players, so we battled hard, plus we were only down by two after the first quarter,” Kamana‘o said.
The Stars trounced the Cowboys, 58-12 in the Hawai‘i Football League game this past Saturday at War Memorial Stadium. The win gave Maui sole possession of first-place in the league with a 3-0 record.
The Cowboys are undefeated at home, beating the Kona Razorbacks in their home opener, 36-0.
