Ten teams from California and 10 teams from Hawai‘i, including KIF champion Kaua‘i High School will battle at the one of the most prominent preseason girls’ volleyball tournaments in the country, starting today at the Ann Kang Invitational on O‘ahu.
Ten teams from California and 10 teams from Hawai‘i, including KIF champion Kaua‘i High School will battle at the one of the most prominent preseason girls’ volleyball tournaments in the country, starting today at the Ann Kang Invitational on O‘ahu.
The 23rd annual event runs through Saturday and was renamed the Ann Kang Invitational in 2003, after her death to Lou Gehrig’s disease.
Teams in the tournament include HBA, Iolani (2), Kahuku, Kaiser, Kalani, Kaua‘i, Maryknoll, Punahou, Word of Life, Bakersfield, Brentwood, Capistrano Valley, El Toro, Harvard-Westlake, Los Alamitos, Los Osos, Redondo Union, Rim of the World, and Thousand Oaks.
The Red Raiders are in pool B today, along with Iolani Red, Kahuku, Redondo-Union, and Thousand Oaks.
