Rosalita Ogawa
Rosalita Ogawa of Honolulu died Feb. 11, 2006, in Honolulu at the age of 74.
Born June 16, 1931, in Waimea, she was a retired waitress for Columbia Inn and a member of Soka Gakkai International.
She is survived by her husband James; son Edwin (Ann) Ogawa; daughters Juno (Dean) Hesapene and Naomi (Clyde) Rapozo; eight grandchilden; two great-grandchildren; brother, Tito Sahut; sisters Dora (Joe) Tinao and Theresa Benzon.
A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 21, at Diamond Head Mortuary. Casual attire is suggested and that flowers be omitted.
Arrangements are being handled by the staff of Williams Funeral Services.
Marie L. Coyaso
Marie L. Coyaso of ‘Oma’o died Feb. 13, 2006, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 81.
Born Nov. 4, 1924, on Kaua’i, she was a homemaker.
Preceded in death by her son Wallace Coyaso and brother Saba Torres, she is survived by her husband, Ernest R. Coyaso; daughters Judy Brummett and Delia N. Coyaso and son Ernest Coyaso, Jr.; brothers Daldo Torres and John Torres; sister Emily Dela Torre; 10 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 19, at Borthwick Mortuary Chapel in Koloa where services will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Burial to follow at Koloa Public Cemetery at 4:30 p.m.
The family suggests casual attire. Arrangements are being handled by the staff of Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Florence Carrillo
Florence Felipa Carrillo of Kekaha died Feb. 9, 2006, at her home in Kekaha at the age of 64.
Born May 12, 1941, on Kaua’i, she was a tax preparer.
She is survived by her husband Fernando Carrillo, daughters: Rowena (Dario) Caselli, Ruth (John) Lyon, and Colleen (Keith) Perry; brothers: Sonny Supnet, Jr. and Edward Supnet; sisters: Carmen Natarte and Rosalie Gaskile; three grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Monday, Feb. 20, from 9:30 a.m. to noon at Kekaha Jehovah’s Witnesses Church. Cremation to follow.

Thomas G. Morris
Thomas G. “Lover Boy” Morris of Kapa’a and Medford, Ore., died Feb. 8, 2006, in Kapa’a at the age of 77.
Born on Oct. 7, 1928, in Tacoma, Wash., he was the manager of a moving and storage company. He retired in 1999.
He married Yvonne M. Johnstone in 1971 at Tumwater, Wash. They moved to Medford, Ore., in 1976 and for the past 18 years have been part-time residents of Kapa’a.
He is survived by his wife Yvonne of Medford, Ore. and Kapa’a, sons Thomas R. and wife Lorri of Gig Harbor, Wash., Steven L. of Tacoma, Wash., and Michael J. of Springfield, Ore., 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, a niece and nephew. In addition he was adopted as Grandpa by a family of eight children. He was preceeded in death by his brother Donald.
There will be a celebration of life at Salt Pond Beach Park on Sunday, Feb. 19, at 1:30 p.m..
Cremation was done at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary in Koloa.
Ernest Silva, Sr.
Ernest Simon Silva, Sr. of Kekaha, died at home on Feb. 9, 2006, at the age of 78.
Born in Makaweli on Oct. 27, 1927, he was a retired heavy equipment operator with Amfac Sugar.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Silva; children, Ernest Jr. (Brenda) Silva of Kekaha, Geraldine Silva of Lawa’i, Lloyd (Kaimi) Silva of Kekaha, Rosalie (Francis) Nitta of Kekaha, Jasmine Silva of Kekaha; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Elizabeth (Wayne) Allianic of Lawai, and Henrietta Boynton of Wailua; two brothers, Patrick (Sweetie) Lopez of Kapa’a and Alfred Lopez of Kapa’a; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel; rosary officiated by Father Biz will begin at 7:30 p.m. Casual attire is suggested.

Marcelo Fontanilla
Marcelo Fontanilla of Kaumakani, died at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital on Feb., 12, 2006, at the age of 89.
Born in Urdaneta, Pangasinan, Philippines on Oct. 30, 1916, he was a retired drip irrigation system operator with the former Olokele Plantation.
He is survived by his wife Irene Fontanilla of Kaumakani; daughters Emily Fontanilla of ‘Oma’o and Lani F. (Matthew) Taeza of Waimea; son, Marcy Fontanilla of Kaumakani; grandchildren, Kiana Fontanilla, Bailee and Keoua Taeza; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral service will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Kaumakani on Saturday, Feb. 18. Viewing will be from 9-10 a.m., with Mass to follow. Burial will be at the Hanapepe Filipino Cemetery. The family requests casual attire.

Filemon Salvador of Hanama’ulu, died Feb. 11, 2006, at his home in Hanama’ulu, at the age of 67.
Born in the Philippines on Nov. 22, 1938, he was a house-keeper at the Kauai Marriott.
He is survived by his sister, Felicidad “Fely” Odoya, of Hanama’ulu; brother Rodrigo (Gloria) Salvador of the Philippines; caregiver and nephew, Robert S. Odoya of Hanama’ulu, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call on family members on Saturday, Feb. 18, from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church in Kapaia. Mass will be celebrated by Father Bill Shannon at 11 a.m., lunch at noon at Immaculate Conception. Burial at Kauai Memorial Gardens at 2 p.m. The family suggests casual attire. Mary Yanos Luna of Wailuku, Maui, and formerly of Kaua’i, died Feb. 11, 2006, at Maui Memorial Medical Center, at the age of 96.
Born March 19, 1909, in the Philippines, she was a seamstress. She was a member of Kekaha Filipino Women’s Club, Kekaha Morale Builders, and United Methodist Women.
She is survived by her son: Martin (Kay) Luna; daughter: Lily (Robert) Hummel; brother: Emilio Yanos; sisters: Dolores Alvero, Lalux Miguel, and Florencia Vea; eight grandchildren and 16 great- grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18, at Kekaha Methodist Church, where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Kekaha Community Cemetery.
The family suggests aloha attire and requests that flowers be omitted.
